Polar updates its range of fitness heart rate monitors for those who want to know if they are improving their physical condition or burning fat. The Polar FT7 comes in 3 colors with a spectacular design as we are accustomed to the Finnish brand.

Heart rate functions

* Training load - visible on polarpersonaltrainer.com

* HR based on target zones with visual and audible alarm

You can define target zones for a training session based on heart rate to set the appropriate intensity. When you go out of the preset zones, the training computer will inform you with a visual and audible alarm.

* HRmax (user setting)

Heart rate - bpm / % * Heart rate - bpm / % (user setting)

Heart rate is the measurement of the work your heart does. Heart rate is expressed as a number of beats per minute (bpm) or as a percentage (%) of your maximum heart rate.

* Average and maximum heart rate during training

* Polar EnergyPointer

EnergyPointer is an easy-to-use feature that, during a training session, tells you whether the main effect of your training is fitness improvement or fat burning. EnergyPointer visually indicates the midpoint between these two training effects. This means that when you are below the midpoint, you are improving fat burning, while when you are above the midpoint you are improving your aerobic capacity.

* Polar OwnCal® - calorie expenditure

Polar OwnCal calculates the number of kilocalories consumed during training. This feature allows you to monitor the kilocalories burned during one training session and the cumulative kilocalories burned during several training sessions.

* Polar OwnCode® (5kHz) - coded transmission

The coded heart rate transmission automatically locks in a code to transmit your heart rate to the training computer. The training computer picks up only the heart rate that your transmitter transmits. The coding prevents interference from other training computers.

* Manual target zone - bpm (upper limit)

This function allows you to define the upper limit of your target zone. You can set the upper limit for your training in beats per minute (bpm).
