Merrel presents Mix Master a minimalist proposal of trail running shoes. Conceived and designed for multidisciplinary action in the mountains. The main novelty is that they have mixed elements of classic shoes in models of asphalt running with functionalities of footwear for the mountain.
As good minimalists, they are very light and flexible and have a 4mm drop. They incorporate MerrellAir Cushion technology, a midsole that offers, in each step, the necessary compression to absorb up to four times the body weight, while providing stability.
This model incorporates a padded tongue to prevent dirt from entering from the outside and has reflective details that increase visibility in low light conditions. It incorporates an anatomical EVA insole treated with Mselect FRESH to prevent odor, and a 2 mm EVA insole to help absorb shock and provide a more comfortable feel without being excessively soft, but with just the right amount of cushioning.
The Mix Master Tuff features the Merrell Float* midsole that is 10% thinner and 25% lighter to provide more control and more ground connection. It also incorporates a 1 mm thermoplastic piece that distributes pressure throughout the foot to avoid discomfort if we tirregularidades on the road.
It is designed to run on asphalt until you reach the tracks or the mountains. That is why its outsole is made of sticky rubber to which we must add 3.5mm lugs.
In practice, the Mix Master Tuff with its 4mm drop and 12mm cush, offers more protection than its sister the Mix Master 2 (4mm drop and 9mm cush). In addition, the Mix Master Tuff has a reinforced contour to offer extra protection against impact, wear and the elements that may arise when trail running, while maintaining the flexibility and lightness of minimalist footwear.
The shoe is supported by a Merrelloutsole with MSelect GRIP, one of the brand's new technologies that allows the shoe to have traction and grip on the most difficult terrain.
As if that weren't enough, you can also choose the model with GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort Footwear, which protects the foot and keeps it dry so you have an excuse not to go indoors this winter!
Merrell Float midsole is low-density expanded EVA, arranged not only in the Air Cushion, but also in the plantar flexion part that provides comfort and extra cushioning. This acts in two ways: comfort by being more adaptive to the terrain and reduces the weight of the shoe.
You can buy the Merrell Mix Master Tuff from 88 € at Spartoo
