Nike has a clear commitment to women's running footwear and is now strengthening its commitment with the launch of a line of shoes designed for HIT (High Intensity Training), perfect for indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as for the transition between the two.
By High Intensity Training (HIT) we mean multidisciplinary workouts that combine exercises, movements and even sports. Moving quickly from sprints to squats, jumps or weights. The number of possible HIT scenarios multiplies in winter, so a versatile footwear solution is needed to cope with whatever a trainer or the weather imposes on athletes.

That's why they have launched the Nike LunarElement running shoes, a challenge for the Oregon-based brand's designers. "For us, the LunarElement is a new way of thinking," says Sebastien Mermet, senior creative director for footwear at Nike. "We wanted to create a shoe that would protect and offer stability while still providing lightness, flexibility and a thin sole. To do that, we had to combine all of these elements in a different way."
For the designers, it was a matter of innovation. They used previous Nike footwear models as a guideline with the goal of incorporating and leveraging best ideas and practices to achieve the perfect combination of the elements for metabolic conditioning.
"We always take inspiration from female athletes," Mermet assures. "After analyzing the way they do sports, we came to the conclusion that stability, balance and flexibility are essential to perform the wide variety of movements required for High Intensity Training. We therefore decided to offer athletes a natural feel, almost as if they were barefoot."
Features
With a sole drop of only 3 millimeters (difference between the height of the sole at the heel and toe), these shoes feature diamond-shaped lugs to increase flexibility and cushioning at the toe, where most of the movements are performed in HIT.
Nike s Lunarlon technology provides additional cushioning while retaining the shoes' lightweight and responsive ride.
HIT or High Intensity Training can be performed indoors or outdoors and sometimes both types of space are combined in the same session.
Outlast® technology applied to the fabric lining the inner lining allows the temperature of the shoe to be regulated, helping to compensate for any excess heat or cold on the feet.
The lightweight and durable single-mesh material protects the shoe when sprinting in light rain or doing push-ups in muddy parks, while allowing sweat to be wicked away to keep feet dry and comfortable.
In addition, the intensive traction design of the outsole offers excellent grip on different surfaces. The Swoosh is visible in low-light winter conditions.
