You know that feeling of having found the ideal training shoe? Well, that's more or less what happened to me with the new PUMA Velocity Nitro 2, a perfect dose of lightness, reactive cushioning and comfort to complete all kinds of distances on asphalt.
To give you a little background, last year I had the opportunity to test the original version of these Running shoes and my sensations were very similar. A shoe for daily runs that can be used in a wide range of paces; versatility in its purest form. These PUMA Velocity Nitro 2 go along the same lines and keep intact everything that worked in the original version with small improvements in their finishes for a more comfortable experience.
Perfect dose of lightness, responsive cushioning and comfort to complete all kinds of distances on asphalt and enjoy a wide range of paces.
What kind of users are the PUMA Velocity Nitro 2 intended for?
The PUMA Velocity Nitro 2 is aimed at medium and light weight runners looking for a very versatile silhouette. From intermediate tempo runs to long series or fartleks, this is a model for almost everything.
That silhouette to which you always turn to because you know that, whatever you do, it will respond perfectly in a wide range of paces and distances and that, runner, is not easy to find.
Why did we like the PUMA Velocity Nitro 2 so much?
Personally, I am a runner who prioritizes lightness and comfort when it comes to choosing a model and these PUMA shoes have the right amount of both qualities. A daily training shoe that surprises for its performance in both relaxed and lively paces thanks in large part to the Nitro technology midsole; a compound that offers a perfect balance between responsiveness, cushioning and lightness for an effortless run.
As with the original version, these PUMA Velocity Nitro 2 also include women's specific lasts; with a wider forefoot and a narrower heel. A configuration that, without a doubt, is, for me, a determining factor when choosing a shoe.
Another key aspect is the adaptability. As soon as you put on these training shoes, you enjoy a perfect fit. A lightweight and breathable model whose engineered mesh acts as if it were a second skin; without adding weight to the whole shoe.
We should not overlook another of the great points in favor of this model; its aesthetics. I personally believe that PUMA has managed to hit the key in terms of design, an aesthetic that fuses performance and style to accompany you in multiple situations of your day to day. This added to a correct choice of the chromatic range gives rise to an impeccable result.
Without leaving aside the upper area, I also consider relevant to mention the "generosity" of the padding in the ankle collar that accentuates, considerably, the feeling of comfort.
What we liked the least about the PUMA Velocity Nitro 2
I have already made public on more than one occasion my sympathy for PUMA s running collection and in the case of the PUMA Velocity Nitro 2, even more so. If I had to make a top 3 of my favorite training shoes these Velocity Nitro 2 would be one of them, I have no doubt. That's why, when looking for their weak points, it's really hard for me to find them.
To try to find a possible margin for improvement, I would point out the outsole area. While it is true that the PUMAGRIP compound behaves perfectly on all types of surfaces, when the asphalt is a little wet, it hesitates in the grip.
With what kind of trail shoes can we compare the PUMA Velocity Nitro 2?
These PUMA Velocity Nitro 2 can be compared to silhouettes such as:
Final conclusion
Little more to add to the above. For my taste, it is a shoe that has everything to become the perfect ally for your daily workouts. A model capable of offering the perfect dose of lightness, cushioning and comfort for you to make a leap in quality.
The shoe to turn to regardless of the pace and distance you're going to do but you know it will deliver, every time.
