The TotalEnergies Murcia Costa Cálida Marathon 2024 has officially announced its date for the 11th edition of this iconic race in Murcia, which will take place on February 4, 2024. Pre-registrations are already open for this date, which will also host the half marathon and 10k modalities.
In the marathon, runners will have a maximum time limit of 5 hours and a half, while in the half marathon, the limit will be 2 hours and 5 minutes. The 42.195-kilometer course will run on an urban circuit with asphalt and paved surface, approved by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). This circuit, characterized by being flat and with a cumulative positive elevation gain of 189 meters, offers the opportunity to achieve exceptional personal best times.
In addition, the month of February offers ideal weather conditions in Murcia, with temperatures ranging between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius, a humidity of 65%, and an average of only 4 days of rain throughout the month, making it a perfect environment for running.

Go to the Shoe FinderThe running event in Murcia offers a strategic location thanks to its solid transportation infrastructure, with two international airports (Alicante and Murcia) less than 60 km from the city, as well as a network of trains and highways that connect it both nationally and internationally. To ensure the comfort of participants, the city has 4,757 hotel rooms to suit different budgets, and during the 3 days of the event special breakfast and check-out times are offered.
The steady growth in participation, with a gradual increase from 1,800 to 5,711 runners in 3 years post pandemic, reflects the appeal of the event, with a mix of local, national and international runners from 66 countries, with the goal of surpassing the 7.000 participants in the next edition. The event spans the entire weekend, starting on Friday with the Runner's Fair and concluding on Sunday with the competition, backed by a strong commitment from local (City Hall and Autonomous Community) and federative (Murcian and Spanish) authorities.
Categories
Registrations for the TotalEnergies Murcia Costa Cálida Marathon are now open. Until February 1, 2024 or until all available bibs are sold out, all runners who wish to participate in the race must do so by registering online through the official website of the organization for the race.
Besides, the categories of participation stipulated by the organization, both for women and men, of this edition of the TotalEnergies Marathon Murcia Costa Calida 2024 will be as follows:
- REDUCED MOBILITY: No age distinction (wheelchair).
- U-23: 18,19, 20, 20, 21 and 22 years old.
- SENIOR: between 23 / 34 years old
- MASTER 35: between 35/39 years old (M35)
- MASTER 40: between 40/44 years old (M40)
- MASTER 45: between 45/49 years old (M45)
- MASTER 50: aged 50/54 (M50)
- MASTER 55: aged 55/59 (M55)
- MASTER 60: aged 60(M60)
- MASTER 65: aged 65/69 (M65)
- MASTER 70: between 70/74 years old (M70)
- MASTER 75: From 75 years old (M75)
Collection of bibs
The delivery of bibs will take place at the Runner's Fair in the facilities of the Gymnasium Forus de la Flota, with all the information of the Marathon on the following days and times. At the Runner's Fair the bibs for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k Popular and the Minimarathon will be handed out during the same opening hours.
- February 02: From 17:00 to 21:00
- February 03: From 10:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00-21:00
In case you can not come to pick up the bib, you can do it another person presenting an official authorization. In addition, it is strictly forbidden the delivery of any bib on the same day of the race, so the withdrawal must be made during Friday and Saturday.
