For Nike, 2024 heralds the year of the Pegasus. The Nike Pegasus series is set to not only make a comeback but to revolutionize the market with not just one, but three models aiming to reclaim its popularity among runners. Among them, the previously announced Nike Pegasus 41 stands out, featuring ReactX foam technology and Zoom Air units in both the forefoot and heel. Additionally, there's the new Nike Pegasus Premium, pioneering the integration of a complete Zoom Air unit within the ZoomX foam. However, another surprise awaits in this lineup: the Nike Pegasus Plus.

Go to the Shoe FinderAlthough not unveiled during the Nike On Air presentation in Paris or in recent press releases, the Nike Pegasus Plus appears to be a hybrid model bridging the gap between the Pegasus 41 and the premium Pegasus 41. While detailed specifications are yet to be disclosed by Nike, information from RUNNEA indicates that the Pegasus Plus offers a cushioning level somewhere between that of the Pegasus 41 and the coveted Nike Pegasus Turbo. Moreover, it seems they'll be available in five distinct colourways.
The design of the Nike Pegasus Plus draws inspiration from the Zoom Pegasus Turbo model launched in 2018, evident in details like the "Pegasus Turbo" inscription on the outsoles and the shoe's release year printed behind the tongue. Iconic features from the Turbo, such as the racing stripe and enlarged Swoosh extending into the midsole, are reimagined with the stripe depicted through an additional embroidered fabric over the Flyknit upper, delivering a contemporary and visually appealing finish.
Tip: Keep an eye out for price drops on the current Pegasus model when a new release is imminent!
The Nike Pegasus Turbo was notable for making ZoomX foam accessible, and it seems that this remains a focal point for the Nike Pegasus Plus. While the possibility of incorporating Zoom Air pods within the foam exists, details regarding the specific material configuration remain undisclosed. Drawing potential inspiration from the Air Max Plus, which introduced Tuned Air cushioning, the Pegasus Plus could feature a tuned version of ZoomX foam, boasting a unique layout aimed at enhancing both responsiveness and comfort during runs.
Nike has yet to disclose the exact release date, but the appearance of five colourways on various reputable American websites hints at a likely launch this summer, aligning with the debut of the Pegasus 41 in June.
With several years of continuity in the Pegasus line, a significant evolution was anticipated. This change becomes imperative in light of competition from brands like Hoka, New Balance, On, and more recently, Adidas with the Supernova line. Nike is also gearing up for the launch of the Nike Pegasus Trail 5, alongside the recent release of the Nike Zegama 2, indicating a strong commitment to the trail segment in 2024.
