A great race in an incomparable setting such as the Portuguese city of Oporto, which allows to put into practice the booming trend of sports and active tourism with the sixteenth edition of the Hyundai Oporto 2024 Half Marathon. The date chosen is Sunday, September 15, starting at 9:00 am.
Organized by Runporto.com, the sports menu of this event for beginners and elite runners will feature two races:
- Mini Marathon of 5 km for all age groups and without competitive purposes.
- Half Marathon of 21.097 km distance for federated and non-federated athletes, born in 2005 and earlier.
Notes on the route and registration
The course of the Hyundai Porto 2024 Half Marathon will allow you to discover the beauty of this incredible city while testing your running skills. The start and the meta will be located at the emblematic Don Carlos I Avenue, giving you the opportunity to experience the excitement and the festive atmosphere from the beginning to the end of the race.
A party that you will live regardless of the distance you run 5k (mini marathon) or 21k (half marathon).
Regarding registrations for the Oporto 2024 Half Marathon, the registration period is open from December 2022 to September 2024. Even last minute registrations at the EXPO, subject to the availability of bibs. The registration limit is 15,000 bibs available for the entire event.
There is also the possibility of VIP registrations for the 21k distance with a total number of 50 bibs available.
Results of the Oporto 2023 Half Marathon
In the last edition of the Oporto 2023 Half Marathon, and in the men's category, there was a hat-trick of Kenyan athletes. Antony Kimtai was the fastest with a time of 1.01:39, beating his compatriots Mike Kiptum Boit (1.01:42) and Barnaba Kipkoech (1.02:42), second and third place respectively.
While in the women's category, Ethiopia's Enatnesh Alamrew Tirusew crossed the meta in first place with a time of 1.07:13. Second place went to Nancy Chepleting (1.09:44), and third place went to Tigist Gasahw (1.10:05).
The registration period for the Hyundai Oporto 2024 Half Marathon is now open, and will be open until September 10, 2024. Even until the day before the race at the EXPO fair, as long as there are bibs available. The registration limit is 15,000 bibs for the entire event.
You should also know that the organization of this event, in charge of Runporto.com, also contemplates the VIP registration modality for the half marathon race with 50 bibs available.
Registration deadlines and prices
Participation is open to all age groups and non-competitive in the 5k Mini Marathon. While in the 21k race, federated and non-federated athletes born in 2006 and earlier will be able to take part.
Half Marathon (21k)
Limit of 10,000 participants
- Christmas promotion until December 31: 18,50€.
- Until March 31: 22€.
- Until August 31: €27.
- Until September 10: €30.
- Last minute at the EXPO: 30€.
VIP Half Marathon ( 21k)
Maximum number of registrations: 50.
- Until September 10th: 200.
The VIP registration has the following advantages: Sub-elite race bib, front row start, parking in the finish area, access to the VIP Zone, checkroom in the VIP Zone, catering in the VIP Zone and results SMS.
Mini Marathon (5k)
Limit of 5,000 participants
- Until March 31: 10€.
- Until August 31: 12€.
- Until September 12: 15€.
- Last minute at the EXPO: 15€.
Registration method
All registrations will be made online through the official website of the Hyundai Oporto Half Marathon, by filling in the registration form and completing the registration fee both on time and on form.
Delivery of race bibs
The collection of the race bibs and the race bag will take place at the Alameda Shoping Shopping Center on the following dates and times:
- Friday - September 13 - between 10h00 and 23h00h.
- Saturday - September 14th - between 10h00 and 23h00h.
The organization will not deliver any race bib or participation kit on the day of the race.

During the 21 kilometers of the race, you will have the opportunity to run along the Douro River, admire the impressive architecture of the city and enjoy the unique atmosphere that characterizes Porto.

- Group A: Less than 1h 30m.
