Meet Garmin Vivoactive, the GPS smartwatch tailored for people with an active lifestyle. It is a very light and elegant smartwatch that includes a series of sports applications so you can quickly improve the results of your workouts and, at the same time, you can stay on top of your most important office matters. In short, the perfect smartwatch to maintain a perfect balance between libre and work.

Garmin 's new smartwatch integrates a series of sports apps that monitor your records. Just by touching the screen you can choose between running, cycling, swimming, golf with GPS and live activity tracking.

Running

This app collects key data such as distance and pace. Thanks to the built-in accelerometer, you won't need a separate pedometer when running on a treadmill, on an indoor track or when GPS is out of service. You can also set vibration alerts to let you know your heart rate, pace and running intervals. Then, when it syncs with Garmin Connect Mobile, you'll get a summary of your run with the number of calories burned and information on whether you've broken any personal bests.

Cycling

With this app you can monitor time, speed, distance and even calories. It is compatible with some heart rate, cadence and speed monitors, which will allow you to monitor your progress in your training sessions and in your daily commute to work.

Swimming

The watch's built-in accelerometer will let you know the total distance swum, laps, number of calories burned, pace and also the number of strokes, among other things. The app is capable of assessing your swimming efficiency through the SWOLF calculation, which averages the time and number of strokes you used to finish a length.

Golf

With a database of more than 38,000 golf courses around the world, the golf app keeps maps constantly updated and is able to record hole number and par. Its GPS measures distances to both the approach and the dodleg, as well as to the back, middle and front of the green in order to optimize the results on each hole. Moreover, the individual scorecard allows you to check if you are under or over par. At the touch of a button, you can find out the distance of each shot.

Live activity tracking

 Garmin Vivoactive Smartwatch

Monitor your steps and set a daily goal you can reach. As you achieve your goals, the smartwatch will readjust them by progressively increasing their difficulty. If more than an hour of inactivity elapses, a red bar will appear on the display to let you know it's time to get moving. By simply walking for two minutes, the bar will be reset. Sleep mode will monitor your rest when you go to bed.

Notifications

When paired with your smartphone via Bluetooth technology, the watch alerts you to notifications with a gentle vibration and shows you alerts for incoming calls, messages, emails and events on your calendar, as well as notifications from social networks and other mobile apps. In turn, Garmin Vivoactive lets you control the music on your player, locate your phone and show your circle of friends the progress of your activities in real time with the Live Track application.

Other features include

Its design, with an extremely slim 8 mm profile, is very comfortable to wear on your wrist throughout the day. The high-resolution color touchscreen display is easy to read in daylight so you can check your records when you're out running. The battery life is up to 10 hours when using GPS, while in watch-tracking mode it lasts up to 3 weeks.
