We present the new launch of Garmin, the Garmin Vivosport activity bracelet, a device designed to carry daily and oriented to health and sport.
Garmin opts for a design without buttons and with touch operation. Its screen is fully transflective, i.e., readable in virtually any light condition no matter how intense it is, with very good behavior in sunlight and backlit. In this case, it is no longer black and white, as previously, but uses a color display to highlight aspects such as the icons of autonomy or the area of a graph. In addition, the screen is in active mode all the time, having the possibility of locking it, avoiding changing the screen we are viewing or stopping an activity accidentally. This is very favorable when we are training.
The main novelty of this model is its GPS. One of the lightest and thinnest on the market, it weighs only 24.1 grams (27 grams for the large version) and the thickness is only 109 mm. The ideal model for those who are exactly looking for a GPS of very small dimensions. It also allows us to use the free "livetrack" function with which we can share our route live with whoever we want, always carrying the mobile with the data connection active for the service to work. In addition, this new version of Garmin GPS provides greater accuracy than the previous ones.
The autonomy of the Garmin Vivosport allows 8 hours in GPS mode with active heart rate monitor and 7 days in smart mode.
It stores an internal memory for 7 activities and 14 days of tracking. It also includes: mobile notifications, calendar alerts, mobile player control and weather widget (weather forecast), silent alarms (vibration) and stopwatch/timer, daily activity monitoring (steps, calories, floors climbed, inactivity alerts, 24-hour pulse and intensity minutes) and automatic sleep, auto-pause and autolap (alerts per kilometer) and automatic recording of repetitions in strength exercises. In addition, it allows automatic synchronization with the Strava application.
It features several sport profiles: running, cycling, strength, cardio and others, both indoors and outdoors, with customizable displays and heart rate alerts, pace alerts for the running profile, calculation of health parameters (stress level) and fitness (V02 max). It is water resistant to 50 meters.
It also offers MoveIQ functions. This function can record detailed walks or runs without the need to start the activity on the bracelet. As well as the TrueUp function that allows us to jointly account for activity data from multiple Garmin devices.
As for connectivity, it can be done via Bluetooth (synchronization), USB cable (PC connection) and ANT to transmit the pulse to other compatible devices (chest straps).
The new vivosport is already on sale since mid-October and its price is 199€. It will be available in three current two-tone styles, so you can choose the color combination that best suits you. Not only will it be the perfect accessory for any sporting occasion, but it is also ideal for all-day wear thanks to its compact design and dynamic style.
In conclusion, it can become aninteresting alternative for those who are looking for a heart rate monitor with accurate GPS and daily activity monitoring, small size and weight, with a very decent autonomy and design to wear daily.
