If you belong to the group of runners who can't go running without their corresponding gadget to control every stride you take, but who shy away from Heart Rate Monitors & Sports Watches with endless functionalities, you're probably used to using Garmins Forerunner range. Just over a year after the release of the Forerunner 15 model, now enters the scene its new evolution with the Forerunner 25, which presents an effective and very easy to handle design.
In addition to the basic features of its predecessor, the new sports watch from the American brand also brings with it significant new features, such as Bluetooth connectivity and an improved, larger display, which does not mean that the watch has increased in size. Thus, the Bluetooth connection allows you to connect the watch to your smartphone in order to synchronize all your training sessions through the Garmin Connect Mobile application. While the display not only gains in dimensions, but also in higher resolution and contrast.
Being a sports watch with GPS, when you train you will have the option to calculate your pace and distance traveled, including accelerometer, ideal for training on treadmill. But it does not have a pedometer, and despite this, it isable to count calories burned and steps taken. In addition, the Forerruner 25 incorporates the activity monitor function, which tells you when you should resume physical activity if you spend more than an hour inactive.
Its 'Auto Lap' feature serves to maintain, at all times, the motivation of the athlete, as the Forerunner 25 launches a warning for each kilometer covered. In this case, the watch will emit a pleasant sound, and its display will be backlit, reflecting the time marked in those 1,000 meters. But it also alerts you when you have beaten your own personal record: the fastest kilometer, or the longest distance run to date.
Another of its outstanding functions is the 'Virtual Pacer', since it offers you very useful details, and in real time, on whether your training pace is higher or lower than the previously set target.
The Garmin Forerunner 25 is also notable for its considerable increase in autonomy, which can reach eight hours in training mode, and up to five weeks in watch mode (small version), which reaches 10 hours in the larger model. It is also water resistant to 50 meters.
This new version of the Forerunner range can be found in four different shades: white and pink; black and blue; black and purple; and black and red. In addition it is also marketed, albeit separately, with the HRM heart rate band.
