If you like to walk and trek comfortably, you're in luck because the new Altra Olympus 6 Hike Low GTX is now available.

The Altra Olympus 6 Hike Low GTX is a hiking shoe that perfectly combines the quality of materials and technologies with good protection and durability to walk quietly through mountain terrain.

Outstanding features of the Altra Olympus 6 Hike Low GTX

The North American brand Altra is firmly committed to broadening the profile of athletes it is targeting with this new model, which is designed for hiking in the mountains.

The shoe maintains the essence and versatility of the Altra Olympus 6, but with greater presence of protections and the incorporation of the waterproof membrane.

The upper of the shoe is made of leather for protection and durability. The heel collar is designed to provide a more stable fit, necessary if we walk on more uneven terrain, however, it is a shoe that does not have the same protection as the Altra Olympus 6 Hike Mid GTX as that model is a mid-top.

The shoe incorporates a waterproof Gore-Tex Invisible Fit membrane, a lightweight and waterproof lining that will protect our feet from the cold and rain if we walk on wet or muddy terrain.

This model features the brand's signature Original FootShape Fit technology , which consists of a roomier front part of the shoe that helps our toes move more freely.

The midsole features a compression-molded EVA foam that provides good cushioning, ideal for long-distance or multi-day treks.

The outsole has one of the most outstanding compounds on the market today, the Vibram Megagrip, which guarantees a great grip on a wide range of terrains, regardless of whether they are dry or wet.

Ideal profile of the Altra Olympus 6 Hike Low GTX

This is a lightweight hiking shoe that adapts to a wide profile of athletes as it has the characteristics of trail shoes but with greater protection and support for walking in the mountains.

Athletes of medium weight and neutral stride technique will be able to get the most out of the shoe's performance.

Like most of the brand's models, it has the characteristic 0 mm drop with high profiles located at 33 mm. In terms of weight, it is a heavier shoe than a trail shoe, weighing 473 grams.

In short, this is an ideal model for walking in the mountains, as long as they are not overly technical or high mountain terrain, but it provides good cushioning and protection thanks to the waterproof membrane it has.
