361º Centauri, a daily training shoe that is surprisingly well-balanced

Knowing yes, because in RUNNEA we have had the opportunity to try some of the first versions of their most important models. But what has really surprised me about the 361º brand is the extensive catalog of running shoes, which makes it difficult for you not to find the option that best fits your running profile. On this occasion, I analyze the 361º Centauri. A versatile and dynamic model for running without any kind of distraction on the asphalt.

I had to dive into RUNNEA' s archives to find the reference of the 361º Spire 3. The first review of the Chinese brand by our RUNNEA TEAM. More specifically, my dear colleague Iker Muñoz. Of course, one and the other model have nothing to do with each other, except that they have that characteristic "flying3 logo printed on them. However, Iker's example serves to tell you that 361º has established itself as an interesting brand, capable of competing, toe to toe, with the big heavyweights of the running universe.

Pay attention to the details of these 361º Centauri, because, although it may be hard to believe, they are firm candidates to become your daily trainingshoes that will undoubtedly help you improve your performance.

The 361º Centauri is one of the latest additions to the Asian brand's varied running shoes lineup for neutral runners.

For practical purposes, these 361º Centauri are shoes to run at intermediate paces, even with which you can accelerate the pace at the right time.

In its business card it is necessary to emphasize that we are talking about a daily training shoe for runners of intermediate and/or high weight, up to 85 kilos. They perform well in all types of runs, including long distances, but with some nuances that I will explain later.

What we liked the most about the 361º

Of course, the technology applied is noticeable when you wear this 361º model company but these Centauri stand out for being an interesting option with light and soft cushioning for running on asphalt, but also for implementing a very well ventilated and more durable upper. A perfect option for running in the good weather of Spring.

On a technological level, these 361ºCentauri feature a midsole with the exclusive Engage foam, in a full-length format, to make you enjoy workouts with superior, soft and responsive cushioning. What's more, as bold as it sounds, the running feel reminds me a lot of the first version of the ASICS Novablast runners.

Also a plus point is the wider space in the front of the shoe. A feature that allows for more space between toe spacing, which enhances more natural foot movements.

On the other hand, its more anatomical design favors a more personalized fit, eliminating pressure and tension during the dorsiflexion phase.

Another interesting detail of these 361º Centauri is found in the heel area. This is where the anti-abrasion rubber appears to increase grip and stability during running.

Improvement opportunities for the 361º Centauri

To tell the truth, I'm still in the phase of adopting them for certain workouts in which I like to run comfortably and without giving up some sparkle, when the legs respond and the body accelerates the pace a little more. Being a member of the RUNNEA TEAM I am fortunate to be able to choose trainingshoes. These 361º Centauri are already positioning themselves as that fun, jogging option for those mid-distance runs that don't exceed 15 kilometers.

That said, the "but" is that over that amount of kilometers in a single session, the foam feels softer in the heel area. And if you are one of those runners who heels with a lot of heel strike, you may have the sensation that the foam sinks in too much. It is not uncomfortable, but a little more consistency in this area would increase the performance of the model on the road.

Aesthetically, I think these 361º Centauri have room for improvement, and in future editions they could have a more modern style, leaving behind that more classic running shoe look.

Final conclusions about the 361º Centauri

All in all, these 361º Centauri are an everyday training shoes with a perfect combination of comfort, responsiveness and fit. I am aware that this is a more personal opinion, but, as I have already said, I find it a very interesting option for those medium distance runs, and always at soft, comfortable and enjoyable paces. Although, the shoe will respond if you want to accelerate the pace, but well controlled.
