The Adidas 4DFWD 2 is the German brand's bet to find the midsole of the future in running. The concept of this shoe is based on research about the way humans run. When we run, our forward movement is slowed down with each impact of our steps on the ground. This means taht during the running cycle we continuously stop and accelerate.
Based on this approach, Adidas running has designed a lattice-shaped midsole made from a lattice structure and 4D technology. The reticular structure of the 4DFWD has been designed from more than five million possible structures and has been specifically coded to compress forward at the same point where the vertical impact against the ground occurs on each landing.
Adidas' main goal with the 4DFWD 2 is for its midsole to reduce the braking forces on each foot strike, transforming the foot's impact against the ground into forward momentum. The Adidas 4DFWD 2 is recommended for runners looking for new sensations in easy paced runs of up to 10 kilometres.
If you want to experience a different type of stride and combine your easy running sessions with a spectacular design that leaves no one indifferent, these may be the shoes for you. So far, the Adidas 4DFWD 2 are not performance shoes, but a model that you will be able to use both to go out and enjoy running and to combine with your most sporty day-to-day outfits.
Its type of cushioning is reactive, for runners up to a maximum of 80-85 kg. Runs around 10 kilometres and paces no faster than 4:30 min/km. Shoes 100% for running on asphalt since on trails or paths the gravel of the road get into lattice format of its midsole.
MIDSOLE 3D DESIGN 4DFWD:
Lattice design based on the study of the running mechanics of thousands of runners. It uses Digital Light Synthesis technology. It is an innovative resin-based 3D printing process that uses digital light projection, oxygen-permeable optics and engineering-grade materials to produce polymeric parts with mechanical properties such as the midsole of these shoes.
PRIMEKNIT+. The new upper is made from Primeknit+ fabric. It is partly made from recycled material. The upper contains at least 50% recycled materials.
CONTINENTAL OUTSOLE. As in other premium models of the brand, the outsole incorporates Continental rubber. It provides great grip on both dry and wet surfaces.
According to data provided by the German brand, the braking forces when landing have been reduced by up to 15%.
According to tests carried out with other 4D outsoles, this second version achieves up to 23% more cushioning.
For its manufacture, 40% natural and renewable materials have been used.
