In the eighth version of the adidas Supernova Glide Boost it can be said that there are few changes in sight when compared to, for example, its predecessor, the Glide Boost 7. In this new update of the best-selling model, adidas running has focused almost exclusively on increasing comfort in the heel area. To this end, the German brand has opted to use a resource already seen in the Ultra Boost to raise the cushioning at that particular point of the shoe, as an ergonomic reinforcement. In this way, the adidas Supernova Glide Boost 8 reinforces its great response, and even enhances cushioning. The result is a shoe that is still classified as top of the range.
As for the rest, this eighth model of the successful Supernova Glide saga keeps the same script as far as the technologies used are concerned. As it could not be otherwise, the Boost cushioning system continues to dominate in the midsole, making it a very versatile option for both long runs and even for practicing the famous fartlek (or changes of pace).
In the midfoot, the Torsion system is the one that continues to provide stability and freedom of movement, and independently, between the rearfoot and forefoot.
In addition, adidas running has once again used AdiWear 6 compound in the most wear-prone areas of the sole, which does not reduce traction, but does extend the life of the shoe. And considering that the rubber is made of Continental rubber, a good grip is more than guaranteed, even on slipperier surfaces.
And as far as its upper is concerned, the adidas Supernova Glide Boost 8 does not change the Techfit technical mesh, which provides a great fit, great breathability and a softer feel, in pursuit of avoiding annoying chafing. It also features reflective elements that improve your visibility in low light.
In addition, it should be emphasized that the ergonomic heel reinforcement not only improves the support of the model, but also contributes to give more protection to such a vulnerable area as the Achilles tendon.
All in all, the adidas Supernova Glide Boost 8 is designed as a daily training shoe for neutral runners, and can also be used for racing, depending on the runner's weight. This top-of-the-line model performs well at slow paces, ranging from 4:00 to 6:30 minutes per kilometer, and on asphalt as well as dirt.
The adidas Supernova Glide Boost 8 also has a 10-millimeterdrop and slightly reduced weight in both the men's version (302 grams) and the women's version (262 grams).
