There are still a few months to go before one of the latest novelties from the American brand Altra is released, the Altra FWD, which may mark a turning point for the brand.
Will the Altra FWD be the first running shoe that does not have Altra's characteristic 0 mm drop? We will confirm this in the coming weeks but everything seems to point at this being the case, according to the first pieces of information.
Altra is one of the brands that undoubtedly bets on natural running, with models that feature a wide last with the characteristic Balanced Cushioning platform that favours a more natural footstrike, ensuring more fluid transitions and toe movement during our workouts.
Everything seems to indicate that the Altra FWD will be a shoe with great profiles, similar to those of other emblematic models of the American brand, such as the Altra Olympus 5, a commitment to maximalism that seems to be a trend in the current running shoes market, as shown by the New Balance Fresh Foam X More v4.
The heel area of the shoe will have plenty of padding to provide extra comfort and protection and a raised back heel to protect runners' Achilles heel.
On the sides of the shoe and the upper part of the tongue, the logos and motifs of the North American brand will be displayed in a shoe that, pending official confirmation, will have a 4 mm drop, thus becoming the first shoe that will not have Altra's characteristic 0 mm drop.
Data such as the drop and the materials and technologies that will be integrated into the shoe will be confirmed as the release date of the new Altra FWD approaches.
