With runners who need stability and a low arch in mind, Brooks has created the Brooks Addiction 12, an ideal shoe for foot motion control, offering superior comfort and cushioning, but mainly appropriate stability on asphalt.

Brooks Addiction 12

For this edition, some optimizations have been made with respect to the previous version, however, much of the technologies and the characteristic design of this series have been preserved. The biggest change that Brooks has implemented to this shoe is the construction of the upper.

This time the overlays have been moved to the sides and slightly back to provide a more secure and comfortable fit especially in the midfoot. Additional overlays have also been added on the sides of the shoe to provide better support to the midfoot, mainly in the arch section, however, in terms of fit, the feel on the foot remains almost identical to the previous version.

Lightweight mesh

In addition to these changes made to the upper construction, the Brooks Addiction 12 retains the lightweight mesh upper overlay, which has the ability to keep the foot cool and dry. The layers of the upper design are strategically placed for a secure fit on the foot. It also features a purposefully placed internal support mount in the midfoot section for added stability in this area.

Custom midsole

The BioMoGo material is present in these Brooks shoes to offer cushioning that is customized to the characteristics of each runner's stride; this material has the quality of adapting according to the level of pressure that occurs at the moment of impact with the ground, offering support in the areas that each runner needs.

Another technology incorporated into the midsole is the Extended Progressive Diagonal Rollbar, which is a foam that extends from the heel to the forefoot to reduce excessive pronation. Finally we find the Caterpillar Crash Pad that moves with the foot to improve stability and give a smoother transition between the heel and toe.

Traction and resistance

In the case of the outsoles, these use the HPR technology that has also been seen in other editions of Brooks running shoes. The Brooks Addiction 12 offers high resistance to abrasion caused by frequent use while allowing for optimal traction and grip on asphalt terrain during training runs.

These technologies work efficiently in conjunction with the MC Pod configuration, a pattern specifically designed by Brooks for its pronation control shoes, which allows the outsole greater stability, flexibility and a smooth, fluid movement from the heel area to the toe section.

Overall the shoes are an excellent choice for runners in need of shoes with special support in the arch area looking for an ideal training partner.
