The Brooks Defyance 9 is one of the company's most versatile editions of running shoes, offering a combination of comfort and cushioning for a smooth yet protected run.

Flexibility and underfoot comfort are the main features in these shoes and make this neutral shoe a perfect choice for everyday training. Its midsole is now more robust in terms of the amount of technologies used for cushioning, while its outsole plays a good role in offering protection and traction.

Upper design

Element Mesh is a material used for the upper construction of these sneakers. This mesh in addition to being soft offers durability, good ventilation and comfortable coverage, during each of the activities performed with these shoes. The mesh keeps the inside of the shoe cool and controls moisture, so that the feet do not suffer from irritation.

The synthetic overlays are strategically placed to allow the shoe to close more snugly to the foot but this fit can also be customized by the runner, while maintaining the structure of the upper.

Underneath the mesh is Element Lining technology. This is a soft material that allows for a comfortable interior of the shoe while controlling moisture. Even if the runner does not wear socks, the shoes will provide a good level of comfort and the feet will stay cool at all times.

The internal insole not only helps to provide a comfortable environment for the foot but also supports the midsole cushioning system. This insole is made with BioMoGo technology, which adapts to the natural contours of the foot, offering support and security according to the needs of each runner.

Midsole

BioMoGo DNA technology is used for the midsole, which offers cushioning that adapts in a personalized way to the characteristics of the runner's foot sole, as the material contours differently according to the pressure exerted.

A thermoplastic polyurethane unit makes up the DRB Accel technology, which offers increased support to the midfoot by conforming to the arch. Thanks to this technology, each step of the race is more efficient, as it provides greater stiffness that controls torsion.

The Omega Flex Grooves that Brooks has already implemented in other shoe editions are also present in the midsole of the Brooks Defyance 9 This system consists of flex grooves that extend through the midsole and work in conjunction with the outsole to facilitate foot movement and offer better response while running.

Outsole

HPR Plus rubber is a material used in the outsoles of these shoes that is highly abrasion resistant, doing a good job against friction, surface contact and scuffing. This material also aids cushioning by absorbing part of the impacts received when touching the ground.

The grooves that are distributed throughout the outsole not only help maintain flexibility, but also encourage a more natural movement of the foot in the forefoot section to make the toe-off more energetic.

The Brooks Defyance 9 features a 12-millimeter drop and is perfect for everyday training; these shoes focus on foot comfort, making every step as efficient as it can be.
