Finally, I can now officially say that I have a Brooks Running shoes for my feet. I had to collect letters in more than 20 reviews in RUNNEA to test a model of the American brand. Zero complaints, because it is a privilege to be part of this #RUNTESTER team. Each one better than the others, and from whom everything can be learned. Fortunately, it was my turn to review the Brooks Ghost 15. That comfortable and reliable daily trainingshoe for all kinds of distances and a great variety of paces on asphalt. The ones that never let you down, and are always there when you need them!

Brief reflection. I have heard, and there are many voices, that question the goodness of this running shoe, claiming that the Brooks Ghost 15 is one of those models that has evolved very little in its latest versions. Here, the brands have us very bad used to, because if there is no radical change in the aesthetics and design of a shoes, it seems that the latest version of that model is identical to the previous one. With this argument, the decision is not to buy it because it is not worth it.

Ladies and gentlemen, as the good runners that we are, we must be practical and functional. Is it necessary that a running shoe has to be modified from head to toe in order to be taken more into consideration. I don't think so.

In my humble opinion, the first thing that all improvements should bring with them is that they should be felt and noticed. This is not at odds with aesthetics, but the latter is not so essential either, let's be clear.

As I said in these Brooks Ghost 15, although it is hard to believe it, and see them, they bring with them significant improvements, and you will notice them from the first kilometer you run with them. Without a doubt, I'm talking about one of the best daily training shoes of this 2023.

What we liked most about Brooks Ghost 15

Maybe it's a personal opinion, but this Brooks Ghost 15 is the model that best represents the DNA and philosophy of the American brand Run Happy. Comfortable transitions with light strides to add miles without distractions, but, above all, having fun at all times. That should be the pleasure of running.

The midsole of this Brooks Ghost 15 does not include the exclusive DNA Loft v3 compound of the Brooks Glycerin 20, but it does evolve with a notable leap in quality, introducing the DNA Loft v2 material. It is a foam with less density and lighter, which translates into a more comfortable and softer cushioning sensation with every step you take. You can feel and feel it.

I also think that the Air Mesh in the upper's technical mesh is a real hit. This upper not only offers more comfort and breathability, but also a more secure fit. Hand in hand with that characteristic 3D Fit print.

I like the detail of being a more sustainableshoe with more than 60% recycled materials in the upper area. But also with the fact that it is a more than adequate option for runners who heel without measure. That navy blue colorway with pearl accents and a salty feel, which Brooks names, look perfect with jeans and for going to work at the office. I'm telling you, you won't regret it at all.

Improvement opportunities for the Brooks Ghost 15

It's not that these Brooks Ghost 15 have no shortage of "buts" to put on them, but it's not an easy task. In my initial plea it is true that I have defended the idea of maintaining a certain line of continuity of the model, but we should not close our eyes, and I recognize that perhaps a small change in the look of the Brooks Ghost 16 would make it much more attractive, and I am sure that it would capture the attention of many potential users of the Brooks Ghost saga, which there are, and there are many.

The outsole is not for wet surfaces. Excellent performance on asphalt and dry pavement, even with good traction. However, if you go out on that typical rainy day - it rains and it doesn't - and with plenty of water on the ground you run the risk of slipping and skidding.

On the other hand, with an RRP of 150€, its starting price seems a bit high to me. However, considering that Brooks is a premium brand and 100% running, you can understand that price. But I also let you know that it is one of the running shoes that are meat of great discounts, because taking advantage of sales periods and promotions, it is a model that usually presents very good deals to attribute much more affordable prices.

In my personal opinion, these Brooks Ghost 15 are the most balanced daily training shoes from the American brand. A true runner, very reliable for racking up miles in a big way with smooth transitions, and favoring almost effortless strides.

If you are looking for a secure fit and high drop shoe to enjoy more comfortable strides for running and/or walking at gentle paces, the Brooks Ghost 15 is, without a doubt, your best choice.

I can't hide it, and if you follow me on the RUNNEA authors page, you'll already know that my preference is the Mizuno Wave Rider 26 but the good thing about being a #RUNTESTER is that you have the possibility to discover and compare models. Thus, both these Brooks Ghost 15 and the On Cloudgo already have the necessary arguments in favor to discuss the privileged status of Wave Rider 26 in my daily training closet with a higher degree of reliability.
