Year 2015

This sixth version of the Ravenna model stands out for its dynamism and is able to offer the perfect blend of cushioning and stability, with perfect arch support. It has the same outsole as the previous Ravenna 5 model, with the main differences being the significantly improved fit.

The new Brooks Ravenna 6 is a training shoe for runners above 75 kilograms with neutral or slight pronation looking for medium cushioning. Its drop reaches 10 mm and its approximate weight is 303 grams for the men's model and 249 grams in the women's version.

Seamless upper

Compared to the predecessor version it is in this upper where the main novelties are to be found. For example, the seams have almost completely disappeared, giving way to TPU thermoseals. Brooks has incorporated a protector in the toe of the shoe to help support the foot, while in the forefoot area a double-layer mesh has been used to give consistency and prevent premature breakage, while facilitating breathability of the foot.

On the other hand, both the tongue and the collar that surrounds the ankle are quite padded, achieving a good feeling of comfort and convenience, often only implemented in top of the range shoes.

Midsole, cushioning and stability

The Brooks Ravenna 6 features the BioMoGo DNA cushioning system, as well as segmented shock absorbing cushions in the heel and medial side of the shoe that provide optimal stability with the Progressive Diagonal Rollbar stabilizing support for reliable pronation control. Brooks has designed a midsole with a good dose of rear cushioning, ideal for heel strikers, but somewhat lacking in the forefoot.

Outsole with good durability

The most remarkable thing about the outsole of this sixth Brooks Ravenna version is, without a doubt, its durability and great adaptability to different types of surfaces. Despite having a good design, the grip of the shoe is not as good as one would like.

This Brooks Ravenna 6 has a bit more depth by using Omega Grooves to provide more stability and flexibility. It has a decent transition and is a good fit if you're the type of runner who lands with your heel.
