Here I bring you the Brooks Transcend 4. With all its features there is no doubt that it is included in the "Cushion" category of Brooks Running. Since it was born, the Transcend family has been labeled as a model that provides maximum support. Originally, the American brand's Transcend model was presented as one of the alternatives to ASICS Running's famous Gel Kayano saga, although the iconic shoe for pronator runners seems to be unrivaled when it comes to providing stability control to the athlete.
However, edition after edition, the Brooks Transcend has been adapting with small, but noticeable changes, and has managed to have a large following, thanks to that maximum support, garnished with soft and comfortable underfoot cushioning. The result is that this running shoe has not only improved comfort but also performance.
To capture that experience of support and cushioning, the fourth version of the Brooks Transcend uses the Super DNA cushioning system, already seen in the midsole of its predecessor, the Transcend 3, and whose strong point is none other than that it is a material capable of adapting dynamically to each stride.
At this point, the significant change in the Transcend 4 is in the updated Guide Rails system, which, together with the flexible grooves, should improve both the support and the flexibility of the model itself.
Another detail to mention about the Brooks Transcend 4 is in the rear of the shoe. In the external heel area, the PeBax compound has been slightly modified with the idea of further minimizing excessive heel rotation.
A wrap around the heel give the shoe a plush interior feel, and slightly modified PeBax external heel counter should further reduce excessive heel rotation. a lightweight external heel counter to reduce excessive heel rotation.
More changes to the Brooks Transcend 4, and of great significance, lie in its upper. In this fourth version, Brooks Running has decided to develop a single-layer upper, abandoning the three-layer construction of previous versions. The mission is none other than to try to reduce the weight and increase the breathability of the model. Thus, the upper design of the Transcend 4 is 3D printed and heat-sealed to ensure optimal fit and support.
With a drop of 8 millimeters, the Brooks Transcend 4 has a weight of 306 grams for the men's version, and 258 grams for the women's model. This latest version of the Transcend is aimed at a wide range of runners of medium to heavy weight, and who are looking for a running shoe that guarantees support and soft cushioning for long distance runs.
