1 / 3In the coming months HOKA's new model will be released: the HOKA Cielo Road, a very light shoe which is ideal for short distances, for workouts and for fast races.
The HOKA Cielo Road is a running shoe that will be a bit different from what we are used to seeing in other models of the brand, as it will not have large foams in the midsole or other aspects that characterise HOKA shoes as we will see below.
What are the expectations for the HOKA Cielo?
HOKA continues to innovate in the presentation of new models, as is the case of the new HOKA Cielo Road, a shoe designed to run very fast, with hardly any protection features and with one of the lowest drops we have seen in HOKA, only 3 mm.
If the HOKA Rocket x2 is a competition running model for the most demanding runners on asphalt for medium and long distances, and which has a carbon plate; the HOKA Cielo Road is similar in those aspects but it doesn't have a carbon plate and is intended for short distances.
The upper of the shoe will have hardly any protection, only in the heel area, and will have a very light and breathable mesh that will allow a perfect fit of the foot inside the shoe.
The midsole of the shoe will have a light PEBA foam that will provide great reactivity, necessary for running at very fast paces, either on the running track or on asphalt.
The sole of the shoe has a greater presence of rubber in the areas of contact with the surface such as the front and rear and will also have much presence of foam in the middle area helping to bring more lightness to the shoe.
In short, even though the HOKA Cielo Road hasn't been launched officially, it seems we will have a trainer which is a little different from what we are used to seeing in HOKA, a narrower shoe, with few protections and intended for runners who need a very light shoe (under 200 grams, 196 grams specifically) and fast for short distances.
