Since the introduction of the first Hoka One One Clifton, these shoes have gone through many changes. They started life as a shoe that provided a good level of cushioning, weighing only 226 grams.
The changes have mainly been in the upper materials, and also in the overall fit. The midsole material has undergone some minor adjustments, but still retaining many similarities with previous versions. The Hoka One One Clifton 4 includes a number of updates that we will discuss in depth below:
On the upper, the updated material is Engineered Mesh. This type of mesh has stretchy and breathable properties, conforms to the shape of the foot and allows airflow inside the shoe. The main difference with the material of the 3rd version of the Clifton is in the durability of the material. Engineered Mesh offers improved support, lightweight and durability.
Complementing the durability of the upper is the 3D Puff Print Frame. This design improves the fit of the foot, keeping it in place as the run progresses. It also helps maintain the shape of the shoe and provides a sleeker design, making the Clifton 4 look more athletic and stylish.
A molded Ortholite footbed has been added to enhance the shoe's comfort. This provides a superior in-shoe feel by mimicking the natural contours of the sole of the foot. The structure and construction of the insole also helps wick moisture away from the foot, while combating the growth of fungus and bacteria.
Aimingto improve the responsiveness and durability of the midsole, Hoka One One Clifton 4 uses full-body EVA rubber. The rubber upgrade ensures Hoka One One's signature cushioning.
A key feature of the shoe lies in the fact that it promotes more efficient running mechanics, thanks to Early Stage Meta-Rocker Geometry technology. This technology was designed with a lower heel-to-toe differential than usual.
The outsole is equipped with a lightweight, high-abrasion rubber that has been strategically redesigned. This material has been placed in key areas of the outsole to enhance the traction and heel-to-toe transition offered by the shoe. This material improves the grip of the shoe and also amplifies the energy return experienced by runners. The changes to the midsole materials were made to increase the lifespan of the shoes.
Sneakers specially designed for athletes with neutral footstep, created for daily use, the weight ranges from 215 grams to 265 grams, depending on whether the model is for men or women. While its drop is 5 mm.
The fourth version of the Clifton comes with the standard running shoe length. Those interested in a pair will be able to order this shoe in the size they are used to. As for the width, both men and women will be able to choose between regular and wider width sizes.
In conclusion, the Hoka One One Clifton 4 will be at the top of the list for all fans of the brand as well as new users. If the preference is focused on looking for a running shoe that offers maximum cushioning, the Clifton 4 is an excellent choice, especially for its good value for money.
