One of the HOKA shoes that will be released in the upcoming weeks is the HOKA Gaviota 5, a shoe designed for our occasional running training which can also be used for walking and during our daily routines.

The HOKA Gaviota 5 is a running shoe primarily designed for runners who require additional stability control in their footstrikes which incorporates some of the brand's most notable technologies.

What can we expect from the HOKA Gaviota 5?

During the second half of 2023, HOKA will introduce the new version of the HOKA Gaviota, a version that will incorporate some new features and improvements, catering to runners in need of support.

The HOKA Gaviota 5 will feature the new H-Frame stabilising technology mainly intended for overpronator runners. However, this is not the only new feature of this version, as it will also be slightly lighter compared to its predecessor.

What are the expectations of the HOKA Gaviota 5

The commitment to sustainability and the use of recycled materials has also been increased with respect to the HOKA Gaviota 4. The midfoot support area incorporates 100% recycled polyester. The laces are made of 70% recycled nylon and 30% recycled polyester, while the insole, with Strobel construction, is made of 87% recycled polyester.

The midsole includes an EVA foam that is softer than ever, providing cushioning comparable to one of the brand's flagship running shoes, the HOKA Bondi.

The shoe will have reinforcements in the heel area to offer extra protection and comfort while running, although it won't feature the characteristic high heel seen in some of the brand's prominent models, which is designed to protect the Achilles tendon. The HOKA Gaviota 5 includes a pull tab on the back of the shoe to facilitate the process of putting it on.

The outsole is one of the areas of the shoe that will remain unchanged, with the same design and materials as the previous version, which already had reinforcements in areas of high contact with the ground.

In short, the HOKA Gaviota 5 will be improved with a wider and more comfortable fit for our occasional training sessions on asphalt or for our walks around the city. Along with the introduction of the stabilising H-Frame technology and the use of the softest foam to date in this model, overpronator runners will be delighted with this significant change in the shoe.
