In keeping with the emblematic series' philosophy, the HOKA ONE ONE Mafate Speed 3 trail running shoes have been updated to improve the running experience on narrow and uneven terrain, ensuring performance and comfort. In this way, the model has not only improved its weakest points, but has also established itself as the ideal shoe for the most experienced and demanding mountain runners.
At a glance, this third edition of the HOKA ONE ONE Mafate Speed 3's main new features are concentrated in its upper, which is made of a more durable and resistant material.As well as this, the dual density outsole with a Vibram® MEGAGRIP lug pattern.
As a high-performance trail shoe for tackling the most challenging terrain, the Mafate Speed 3 stands out for its powerful and aggressive dual-density outsole, which comes with a combination of EVA and vulcanised EVA foams, topped with 5mm high Vibram lugs. In other words, a light and comfortable cushioning, as well as high traction on different terrains.
A significant detail to take into account in this third version of the Mafate Speed is its technical and sustainable mesh, which is made of recycled polyester and arranged in different KPU layers. The result? More support and protection. At this strategic point of the shoe, the innovative dynamic mesh increases the degree of breathability. Another unmissable highlight is its integrated tongue which stays in place without moving to avoid discomfort when running.
Of course, another important part of the HOKA ONE ONE Mafate Speed 3 is its outsole featuring Vibram® MEGAGRIP lugs, which aim to avoid slipping, as well as to increase the level of safety when running on different slopes.
In terms of the technical specifications of the HOKA ONE ONE Mafate Speed 3, they are quite unique, given that the men's and women's version differ slightly. The heights for the men's model are 33mm in the heel and 29mm in the midfoot for a drop of 4mm. The drop is the same in these trail running shoes for women, but with different heights of 31mm in the heel and 27mm in the midfoot.
The weights are 303 grams for the men's model and 252 grams for the women's model. All of these features demonstrate that this is a lightweight, dynamic and versatile shoe for any type of trail adventure.
