One of the presentations that the HOKA brand carried out at The Running Event, the reference fair where the big brands of sports retail present their news for next season, where RUNNEA was present for the first time, was the new HOKA Skyflow which is already available in the market.

The HOKA Skyflow is a running shoe that represents one of the great novelties of the brand for this season thanks to the fact that it incorporates some of the best technologies of the brand to run comfortably during our daily running workouts.

It is a comfortable shoe that we can use both for running and walking, during the next lines we will discover all the details of this new model of HOKA.

HOKA Skyflow's outstanding features

HOKA expands its running catalog with this new shoe designed to enjoy our daily running workouts thanks to a premium geometry, an improved midsole foam and incorporating a large number of technologies developed by the brand.

The Hoka Skyflow is a shoe that stands out for its versatility and that joins the daily running training shoes with which it will share the limelight, with the emblematic HOKA Clifton and the HOKA Bondi.

What are your expectations for the HOKA Skyflow?

The upper features an elegant jacquard creel mesh, with padding in the heel and tongue area to provide the necessary comfort for our daily workouts. There are also some practical reflective details, which always provide extra protection while running in those periods with fewer hours of sunlight.

The shoe incorporates Active Foot Frame technology developed by the brand itself and designed to provide stability and protection of the foot in the heel area.

In the midsole it has a SCF EVA foam, a foam that offers good cushioning with extra comfort and elasticity in each of our strides.

The sole of the HOKA Skyflow guarantees great durability and abrasion resistance to run long distances without fear of excessive wear. It is worth mentioning the reinforcements in the areas of greatest contact with the surface, such as the front and rear.

Regarding the technical specifications of the shoe, it has a weight of 244 grams in the women's version and 280 grams in the men's version, with an intermediate low profile, located in the 5 mm drop in both versions.

Ideal profile of the HOKA Skyflow

It is a daily training shoe that runners of medium weight, even light, with neutral stride technique and even with a slight tendency to pronation, will be able to get the most out of its features.

All those who need a versatile shoe with good cushioning and comfort have one of their favorite shoes in the new HOKA Skyflow.

The shoe is already available on the market, and light to medium-weight runners (over 75 kilos) who like to run comfortably with good cushioning under their feet have this shoe as one of their candidates.

In terms of ideal distances to run with the HOKA Skyflow, it performs perfectly in the middle distance and, if we are runners with a good running technique, we will be able to run longer distances comfortably.

We are sure that this new model will be one of the most outstanding launches of the brand for this new season thanks to the quality of its materials and technologies.

HOKA Skyflow: Miles of comfort and performance

Sometimes, when the current options don't meet our expectations, it's necessary to explore further and look for something new. Thus was born the HOKA Skyflow, a model that doesn't completely resemble its predecessors Clifton, Mach or Bondi, but takes the best of each to deliver a unique running experience. The Skyflow promises to transform your daily workouts into a more comfortable and efficient experience.

Key technical features

The HOKA Skyflow is designed for runners looking to improve their daily performance. This model combines a novel geometry with a super critical EVA midsole, which offers reactive cushioning and a lightweight feel with every step. The EVA foam used in the Skyflow is known for its ability to provide a smooth ride and exceptional energy return.

Weighing only 244 grams in size 40 for women and 280 grams in size 44 for men, the Skyflow is surprisingly lightweight. It incorporates HOKA's iconic Metarocker design, which facilitates a more dynamic and efficient transition from heel to toe.

The upper of the Skyflow is made of Creel Jacquard, a material that ensures maximum comfort and breathability. In addition, the design includes reflective elements to enhance visibility during low-light runs, increasing the runner's safety.

The rubber outsole is designed to offer excellent traction on a variety of surfaces, from asphalt to packed dirt roads. This makes the Skyflow a versatile shoe, suitable for different types of training and running conditions.

Running sensations

Running with the HOKA Skyflow is an experience that combines lightness and cushioning. From the very first moment, you notice the reactivity of the EVA midsole, providing a smooth and supportive feel with every stride. The transition is smooth thanks to the Metarocker design, which facilitates natural foot movement and improves running efficiency.

The Creel Jacquard upper fits like a glove, offering superior comfort and excellent breathability. The feel is like wearing a snug sock, with no pressure points or chafing, allowing you to concentrate solely on your run.

The rubber outsole provides reliable traction on a variety of surfaces, from asphalt to dirt roads and light trails. This ensures that regardless of the terrain, the Skyflow will maintain stability and control.

Ideal runner type

The HOKA Skyflow is designed for a runner profile that is looking for a versatile everyday shoe. They are ideal for light to medium weight runners who need a combination of cushioning and reactivity in their workouts. They are also suitable for those who value a comfortable and breathable model for long runs.

This model is perfect for runners who enjoy a smooth and efficient stride, and who are looking for a shoe that provides support and comfort on any type of terrain. If you are a runner who enjoys the lightweight feel and want a shoe that will accompany you on different types of workouts, Skyflow are an excellent choice.

Distances and terrain

The HOKA Skyflow is designed to perform over a variety of distances and terrains. They are ideal for daily workouts on asphalt, providing enough cushioning to maintain comfort on long runs. They also work well on packed dirt roads and light trails, thanks to an outsole that offers reliable traction.

For short and medium distances, the Skyflow offer a responsiveness that makes it easy to maintain fast paces without sacrificing comfort. Even over longer distances, the cushioning and support of the upper ensure a pleasant running experience libre from excessive fatigue.

What we liked best

  • Lightweight, responsive cushioning: EVA foam provides a soft, supportive feel with every stride.
  • Creel Jacquard Upper: Offers superior comfort and excellent breathability, keeping feet cool in all conditions.
  • Versatility in different terrains: The outsole provides excellent traction on asphalt, dirt, grass and tartan, making the Skyflow a versatile option for different types of workouts.

Opportunities for improvement

Upper durability: Although the Creel Jacquard is comfortable and breathable, it may not be as durable with heavy use on more aggressive terrain.

Improved stability: The heel support along with its midsole height and soft running feel may need improvement to provide a more secure fit, especially for heavier runners.

Rivals

Asics Novablast 4: Offers exceptional cushioning and a lightweight feel that makes it one of the most versatile shoes shoes on the market today.

New Balance Fresh FoamX 880 v14: I like it for its comfort and support, this shoe is a great option for runners who prioritize cushioning on long runs.

Kiprun KS900 2: A more economical model that offers good cushioning and stability, although it may not match the lightness and responsiveness of the Skyflow.

The HOKA Skyflow has arrived to redefine the experience of running in an everyday training shoe. Their combination of lightweight and responsive cushioning, along with a comfortable and breathable upper, makes them an excellent choice for runners looking for versatility and performance in their workouts. While there are areas that could be improved, such as upper durability and heel lockdown, the Skyflow offer quality and performance that justify your investment.

The feel of running in these shoes is comparable to floating over the asphalt, thanks to their design to provide a smooth and efficient stride. If you're looking for a shoe that allows you to maintain fast paces without sacrificing comfort, the HOKA Skyflow is the ideal choice. Whether it's for daily training, long runs or racing on a variety of surfaces, these shoes are designed to perform at their best.
