Year 2024

One of Hoka 's major presentations during The Running Event was the new HOKA Tecton X 3, one of the brand's most outstanding innovations for 2024.

The HOKA Tecton X 3 will be a trail running shoe that will feature the best innovations, materials and technologies developed by the brand.

What are the expectations for the new HOKA Tecton X 3?

After a long process of development and testing, HOKA will release this new version based on the prototype with which the American runner Jim Walmsey victoria the last edition of the UTMB.

The upper features a Matryx textile mesh that provides lightness, breathability and durability that only this component can achieve.

Also noteworthy in the upper is the heel area where it has a raised and elastic collar to prevent the entry of small external elements such as stones or sand.

The dynamic upper of the HOKA Tecton X 3 allows a greater expansion of the foot, a critical aspect over long distances. This design is an evolution of the one used in the X 2 X, offering greater comfort and adaptability.

One of the most notable innovations in the Tecton X 3 are the lateral "wings" on the carbon fiber plates. These elements add a level of stability never before seen in the Tecton series. Compared to the HOKA Tecton X 2, which already offered good stability, the Tecton X 3 go a step further, providing additional support in strategic areas, crucial for technical and changing terrain.

The HOKA Tecton X 3 introduces a double layer of PEBA in the midsole, a significant improvement over the X 2 This lightweight and durable compound improves both the shoe's responsiveness and durability. While the Tecton X 2 already offered excellent cushioning, the X 3 elevates the experience by reducing weight and increasing shock absorption.

The change in the outsole is another point where the HOKA Tecton X 3 shines. The Vibram Megagrip outsole with Litebase ensures superior grip on all types of surfaces. The redesigned lugs provide more efficient traction than its predecessor, which translates into better grip on technical ascents and descents.

In short, the HOKA Tecton X 3 is not just an update, but a quantum leap in the Tecton series. With improvements in stability, cushioning, traction, comfort and durability, these shoes are ready to push trail runners to new limits. Compared to Tecton X 2, the X 3 represents an evolution in every aspect, setting a new standard in trail running footwear.

The shoe will be available from August 2024 and will have a starting price of approximately 275 euros. We will be watching for further updates from the brand to bring you more details of what will be one of the great novelties of next year.
