La Sportiva is back with new trail running shoes, the Helios 3. This new remodeling of the Italian house lands on the market with improvements over its predecessor, but with a similar silhouette and shape. Originally born as a rest shoe, this Helios range has been able to reinvent itself and evolve to become a perfect model for training, easy and friendly in its tread, but that can get a high performance even in competition. Below, we will specify its main features.
The new trail running shoes from La Sportiva appear to revolutionize the Helios range with changes that will delight the most demanding runners. The main new features are found in its upper, more similar to the one used in the Helios SR model, created from less plastic materials than those used in the Helios 2.0.
Continuing with its upper, this reissue of the Italian brand changes the quick lacing for a traditional lacingand the more robust padded tongue for a thin and moldable one at the ankle, heir of the Bushido 2 In addition, the heel container stands out for a better fit and support, which makes these Helios 3 shoes more mountaineering shoes than their predecessors.
On the other hand, these trail running shoes for neutral runners maintain the Frixion system in the sole, a blue rubber compound that provides great durability to the model and allows accumulating kilometers of training and competition. As for the midsole, the Cushion Platform technology used, along with the injected EVA foam, offer a feeling of continuous comfort and make them a soft and reactive model.
La Sportiva bets for a newcomer Helios 3, lighter shoes than its predecessors as a whole, reducing by up to 40g the weight of the Helios 2.0 and leaving it at 220g. In the forefoot area we can find a sole height of 11mm compared to 15mm in the heel, resulting in a drop of 4mm. All this, together with the slim silhouette of this model of the Italian multinational, make the Helios 3 a quality remodeling, lighter and with the necessary characteristics to fly through the mountains.
