Year 2024

The Italian firm La Sportiva continues to expand its catalog of shoes and adapting them to even the most extreme sporting situations. With the growing trend of trail running shoes, fall 2017 sees the addition of the La Sportiva Tempeta GTX to the catalog, in which we will see a high bootie, Gore-Tex technology and comfort like few sports shoe editions can currently offer.

These rugged and versatile shoes weigh 320 grams in the standard size and have a 10-millimeter drop that will keep the sole of the foot protected from variations in the surface while running, while the features of its upper provide security and support to the rest of the foot.

Upper of the shoe

Unlike other editions of La Sportiva shoes, in the Tempesta we will find a more reinforced upper, which although it gives a more rigid feeling on contact, it adapts correctly to the foot providing a fit that at the same time offers better support and support for any movement.

The entire outside of these shoes has been designed with protection in mind, while special tensors on the inside are responsible for providing support to the foot. As the name of the shoe suggests, they are accompanied by Gore-Tex technology, which consists of a membrane placed under the upper material, which thanks to its qualities prevents the passage of water, dirt or dirt into the interior, while allowing the steam caused by the foot to escape, so that the interior always stays cool.

As we have mentioned, the shoes have a high ankle liner, which is designed from a well padded neoprene material that will give a very comfortable fit for the foot while keeping it more protected and offering a more secure closure.

Outsole

In the case of the outsole, a very similar design to the Mutant edition is retained but with some variations. The material used for the La Sportiva Tempesta GTX shoes is known as Frixion Blue, which although it has less grip than what we will see in other trail running shoes from the firm, it offers greater durability.

In terms of grip and traction, no performance has been sacrificed for this edition, as the design of the cleat and the sole in general allows them to adapt to a large number of surfaces such as mud, mud, snow, and thanks to the design of the studs, we can adapt the iron studs that the same firm has designed to use the shoes on ice.

Cushioning

The cushioning of these shoes is provided by a layer of injected EVA foam, which is quite firm, this allows a greater return of energy, resulting in a more efficient stride; this means that the shoes will not only keep our foot protected, but will also give us the possibility to achieve a good speed while running.

A special stabilizer is inserted in the heel area of the La Sportiva Tempesta GTX to offer added protection for this section of the foot. This entire midsole assembly while dense, has excellent flexibility and offers good ground feel.

The Tempesta edition promises to stand out for its comfort, proper fit, but above all to protect the foot properly regardless of the terrain conditions in which we use them. A shoe that will allow us to challenge the mountain and technical terrain.
