Not all runners have the same tastes when it comes to training, there are those who prefer to put a little adventure to their races and move through more complicated terrain, so they need shoes that offer greater protection. The Merrell Agility Peak Flex shoes are an edition created by the firm for this purpose, offering cushioning, flexibility and protection; and adapting perfectly to long-distance races and technical terrain.
The upper is made from a combination of mesh, fabric and TPU to offer a more adaptive and comfortable shoe. The materials are strategically coupled to achieve a snug fit that allows freedom of movement without neglecting the protection the foot needs.
The main structure of the upper is made of a combination of mesh and fabric, which facilitates the ventilation of the shoe and at the same time protects the foot from loose material that we find during the race. The synthetic overlays are heat-sealed together, which reduces the use of seams and offers greater flexibility to the shoe.
These synthetic materials used in the Merrell Agility Peak Flex are also reflective, improving the athlete's visibility in low-light conditions. Merrell Omni-Fit technology creates a lacing system that allows for a comfortable fit of the shoe and provides a sock-like feel to the foot.
Hyperlock technology consists of a TPU reinforcement placed in the heel section that keeps this section of the foot protected during certain movements; this reinforcement also allows the shoe to adapt to the foot in a firmer way, thus keeping the foot in place even on descents.
Inside the shoe is an EVA sockliner that provides comfort and with the help of M Select Fresh technology acts as an antibacterial barrier that reduces the likelihood of odors inside the shoe.
One of the main technologies used in these shoes is the FLEXconnect, a midsole created from EVA rubber, to which some flexibility grooves have been placed that extend over the entire surface in two directions to achieve greater agility in movements and at the same time provide stability when running on uneven terrain.
This EVA midsole offers a comfortable layer to the foot, but is also light enough to feel the surface on which you step and eliminate additional weight in the shoe.
The soles of the Merrell Agility Peak Flex make use of M Select GRIP+ technology, which is a system that mimics the shape of a skeleton to provide greater flexibility, but also offers good grip and durability characteristics to provide traction on both dry and wet surfaces. The rest of the outsole uses a mid-prominence lug which allows the shoe to adapt to different conditions and avoids the accumulation of material such as mud or stones.
In this edition created by Merrell for trail running we will see comfortable shoes, with a good cushioning system and a set of technologies that give them greater versatility, to take them where our spirit of adventure decides.
