The Moab FST 2 GTX model belonging to the Moab line of Merrell is one of the trail shoes with GTX membrane that brings us this brand to make our trail races or trekking modalities when weather conditions are not in our favor. This shoe offers protection with the GTX but also security with its Vibram sole, one of the best on the market for its ease of adaptation to all types of surfaces. Another aspect that stands out in this pair is the game of combinations that the brand has launched, with very striking details, something to which the followers of the Merrell brand were not very accustomed, in which much of its footwear is based on black or brown tones. Now we can find combinations for men and women in blue, pink and red tones.
The highlight of the upper is the introduction of the GTX membrane that will protect our feet from the cold and humidity. The materials used have been nubuck and high quality mesh. In the tongue has been used a closure system that completely covers the foot and prevents the passage of any debris into the interior. On the inside, an anti-microbial particle compound has been used to combat foot odor, accompanied by a Kinetic Fit Base insole that adjusts to the base of any foot. The details in color are part of the straps and eyelets of the shoes, being these a very important part to offer a more modern aesthetic look.
In the middle of the shoe we find a lightweight foam midsole, which together with Merrell s Air Cushion technology provides simple and effective cushioning for mountain runs. On the outside we have used the Vibram MegaGrip outsole, one of the best on the market, and that this brand frequently uses for its models with Goretex, due to its excellent grip and traction on all types of surfaces, both wet and dry. The cleat of this shoe covers 5mm, forming a multidirectional pattern in this shoe that does not exceed 430 grams.
The Moab FST 2 GTX also has a boot-style trekking version called the FST Mid 2 GTX.
