The New Balance 770 V5 can easily be ranked among the top choices in stability (pronation) and training shoes for runners. It is a lightweight shoe and offers great breathability, features an upgraded outsole for great traction on gravel and even dirt, offers the right balance between comfort and support, and is made of high quality materials to provide increased durability.
This is an affordable training shoe for the price. It can be used for running, libre exercise or gym workouts, they are an ideal choice for active people and for their versatility they represent a good investment.
As in the previous version the fit and sizing are standard, they will be very comfortable for runners with medium sized feet; these shoes have a good space in the heel and toe, while the midfoot offers the locked-in design. The fit is anatomically very comfortable and allows most runners to quickly adapt to them.
The outsole is a combination of extremely reliable Ndurance rubber for wear protection in high-abrasion areas, while blown rubber in the forefoot provides adequate traction, even in wet conditions.
New Balance uses larger tongues in the midsole area, located between the midfoot and upper for better grip on different surfaces. There are deeper and larger flex grooves in the forefoot for greater flexibility.
New Balance has provided the midsole with many of its best technologies. The most important part of the shoe is the RevLite foam midsole, which acts as the primary cushioning technology and is 30% lighter than other New Balance foams, with the same durability and responsiveness as other premium foams. RevLite also offers a smoother, more supportive ride.
The improved degree of cushioning is thanks to the presence of the Acteva Lite for the first time in this series. The Acteva is included for improved cushioning as a way to compensate for less heel drop. Another feature on top of the midsole is the ABZORB pad. It is made of proprietary rubber and other materials in order to provide shock absorbing and bouncing characteristics. In the midfoot the shoe provides stability in mild to moderate arches and overpronators.
FantomFit technology is still present in the upper. It is New Balance Balance's unique way of using thin materials that run from the outsole to the upper in a seamless construction. This type of design helps keep the feet secure and adds support for the shoe. A synthetic mesh provides adequate breathability, while midfoot-enhancing overlays provide a locked-in, supportive feel.
The ease with which these shoes can adapt to whatever activity the athlete puts them through has made them one of New Balance's favorite editions, primarily among those who want to invest in a shoe that is as versatile as they are.
