New Balance 910 v2

New Balance continues to gain ground in both the running and trail running sectors. Today we present the New Balance 910 v2, a mid-range model that incorporates many of the technologies of its big sister the New Balance Leadville v3. This update has undergone a very obvious leap in quality. It highlights its radical and attractive design for both men and women with electric and aggressive colors.

Who is it aimed at?

The typical user would be an occasional runner looking for a shoe for all types of terrain without being overly technical. Looking for good cushioning, comfort and durability.

Upper

The upper features a toe protection system that NB has called Toe Protect. Its mission is precisely to protect the foot from impacts and achieve greater durability in one of the most exposed areas.

It has a mesh composed of 2 layers. The upper with large holes that help keep the foot ventilated, and the interior that provides comfort and support.

The sides have the NB logo that in addition to adjusting the foot are reflective. We will find a series of nerves that add to stabilize and control the movements of the foot.

The tongue is wide and soft enough to avoid discomfort with lacing. A fabric is integrated to prevent slippage on both sides. The laces are flat and easy to tie with good grip.

The collar that protects the ankle is very padded and protects the area with guarantees. The fit is good and you will find a plate that adds protection in the heel area.

The model has GORETEX technology to keep the foot dry in wet terrain, puddles or rainy areas.

Midsole

The midsole is composed entirely of EVA foam developed by the American brand and called REVlite. Its greatest virtue is that it provides great cushioning with less weight and less deformation with the passage of kilometers.

We have a drop of 8 mm. Perhaps excessive for lovers who want to feel the terrain but we must take into account that this model is intended for runners who want an all-terrain shoe without having a refined technique in the mountains but they like to have a good material, with guaranteed protection, stability and good cushioning.

Outsole

It is distributed in 3 zones. The heel or landing zone has a design with larger and wider lugs, i.e. a larger rubber surface for a safer landing.

Then we find 60 studs of 4mm in the shape of a triangle but up to the midfoot area are arranged in one direction and from there to the toe in the opposite direction. The goal is to achieve better traction.
