With the Fresh Foam 980 Trail comes a new concept of trail running shoe for all mountain running addicts. And we're not just saying that, because once you put them on your feet you will notice and be surprised by the soft feel and cushioning in each stride. That's because nothing is left to chance in the Fresh Foam 980. Every impact and movement is studied.
Although its technical, lightweight and comfortable upper is striking, one of the most outstanding features of this new model from New Balance is its low dropp of 4 millimeters. This gives the runner an exclusive opportunity to enjoy a more natural, smoother running style that adapts perfectly to the terrain.
This softer and more natural running style is achieved thanks to a firmer and more stable inner side in the rear-midfoot area. This translates into a better adaptation to impact and correcting pronation towards the arch. While on the external side, from the heel to the midfoot, the cushioning has been increased in order to improve the absorption of the impact itself.
With regard to the configuration of the aggressive T980 Trial sole, we have chosen to incorporate bi-directional lugs that adapt to any type of surface, both uphill and downhill.
Higher pressure zones feature a larger hexagonal lug design, which enhances the stability and durability of the shoe.
Low pressure zones, the heel is smaller so that the flexibility is more noticeable.
