New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer: An old-fashioned flyer, but with the added bonus of a carbon plate.

I was really looking forward to try a flying shoe without such high profiles. As an athlete and because of my build, I like to feel the full stride cycle in my short series and competitions and that's why I was looking forward to these New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer. A shoe made from super lightweight materials and also with a very low midsole profile that allows the runner to enjoy them even more, as this will allow a faster and more efficient running. Of course, as long as you have a good running technique.

What type of runners are the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer suitable for?

These New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer are especially indicated for fast runners, light weight, no more than 70 kg and as we said with a good running technique. What I liked most about the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer

One of the most striking aspects and what I liked most about these shoes is their carbon fiber plate. It is located in the midsole and New Balance calls it Energy Arc. The impulse in each stride cycle is noticeably faster, feeling a greater impulse at take-off the higher the paces.

On the other hand, it should be noted that they are very light, and the materials are thin and delicate. The upper fabric is very thin and has holes that allow the foot to breathe without any problem. They mold like a second skin to your feet.

They have a very aerodynamic design with a very low height that gives you a feeling of greater contact with the ground during the race.

Possible points for improvement

Although in general I have loved this shoe for the function I mentioned, it is true that the grip should be improved on wet or damp asphalt, as the sole slips a bit.
