New Balance expands its catalog of trail running shoes with the addition of the New Balance Fuelcell SuperComp Trail, a shoe for fast mountain running and which becomes the first model of the brand to incorporate the carbon plate.
The New Balance Fuelcell SuperComp Trail is a trail running shoe that is inspired by its sister running shoe, incorporating the same technologies but with greater protection and a new sole adapted to mountain terrain.
New Balance advances in its trail running catalog with this new shoe aimed at the fastest runners who like to run long distances in the mountains.
The upper of the shoe is made of lightweight synthetic mesh and offers excellent breathability, without compromising its durability at any time. These components work to provide a snug but comfortable fit that keeps your feet protected and strong during your training session or race.
The rigid carbon fiber plate embedded in the midsole is the big new feature of this model. The carbon plate creates a highly propulsive experience under our feet, which makes running longer and faster feel easier, especially on climbs.
On the plus side, the carbon plate also offers the flexibility needed to tackle uneven terrain, thanks to the split forefoot design that adapts to the terrain.
The midsole of the shoe features New Balance's FuelCell foam, the brand's compound that is present in the fastest shoes and in which a good reactivity and propulsion is also sought. In the shoe is present along with Bio EVA, the perfect combination with the carbon plate to propel us in each of our strides.
With the New Balance Fuelcell SuperComp Trail we can run fast on trails and easy mountain trails but, thanks to the Vibram Megagrip outsole (LiteBase version), we can also go fast on those more uneven terrains as we are guaranteed a good grip and durability.
We have mentioned that the shoe is inspired by its sister running shoe, the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Trainer v2, so the profile of the runner is very similar to, of course, who likes to run in the mountains. The fastest runners, preferably lightweight and with a neutral stride technique, will enjoy the technologies incorporated in the shoe.
The shoe can be used in all types of distances, from short to long distances and in both fast training and competitions where it can also be used to the maximum.
In this section we highlight the drop of the shoe, a high drop for a fast shoe, specifically 10mm with profiles of 31mm in the rear of the shoe and 21mm in the front.
In terms of weight, the New Balance Fuelcell SuperComp Trail is a lightweight shoe, under 300 grams, specifically 270 grams in its men's version.
In conclusion, we have in the New Balance Fuelcell SuperComp Trail a fast and agile shoe that, with the addition of the carbon plate and the Vibram Megagrip outsole has everything you need to enjoy running without limits in the mountains.
