Photos New Balance FuelCore Sonic v2
1 / 3Reactivity raised to the maximum power is what the update of the new New Balance FuelCore Sonic v2 is looking for. Running fast is still the goal of this flying running shoe, and in which its features of an optimal lightweight cushioning, a great response in running, and an extraordinary lightness stand out. All these outstanding features indicate that the NB FuelCore Sonic v2 presents itself as a very successful evolution.
New Balance FuelCore Sonic v2, novelties and outstanding features
Thus, and with respect to its original version, these New Balance FuelCore Sonic v2 incorporate important new features in its upper, where the revolutionary BOA closure system returns to hog all the limelight. Although in this second version, the closure is presented in a more practical and improved format, making this micro-adjustable wheel even more customizable, and is able to meet all the needs of the most demanding and fast athletes.
In addition, and continuing with the BOA Fit system, the NB FuelCore Sonic v2 has a series of guides around this system, favoring a more consistent wrap for the foot. To this we must add the TX4 lacing system, light but very resistant. Thus, the whole package of this running shoe for flying over the asphalt offers a precise, secure and individualized fit, while allowing it to adapt to movements in multiple directions.
Without losing sight of the fit aspect, this second interaction of the FuelCore Sonic embodies a bootie construction, through which a tighter fit is achieved. Here we also highlight the incorporation of that characteristic strap, redesigned to offer a more secure support, and a touch of elegance. And while we are on the subject of elegance, it should be noted that this model has also undergone a refinement of the forefoot area, which not only improves the fit, but also avoids irritation points at strategic points on the flex part.
Faster, springier transitions
As it happens in the New Balance FuelCore Sonic v1, this second version also resorts to gain top speed with the implementation of the exclusive REVlite compound of the Boston brand, full-length, and in the usual VL-6 last.
As indicated by New Balance, the REVlite material is up to 30% lighter than the more conventional foams of the American brand. In itself it is a very light compound, capable of offering very good response and firmness, which translates into a feeling of greater speed. That is why New Balance designers use this technological resource in Running shoes designed for series training, or also for competition.
In the outsole, the New Balance FuelCore Sonic v2 also uses the lightweight Solid Rubber, which together with the VL-6 last and REVlite midsole, works to promote faster and more elastic transitions from heel to toe.
In terms of technical specifications, these New Balance FuelCore Sonic v2 have a 6 mm drop (10 mm in forefoot and 16 mm in heel). Their weights range from 238 grams for the men's version to 198 grams for the women's model. The FuelCore Sonic v2 is designed forrunners with a neutral stride and light build, who can use it as an intensive training and series shoe, or as a competition model.
