Nike Running adds another shoe to the Air Max line, this time with the name Nike Air Max Sequent. Although it is not as expensive and has not yet become as popular as the other shoes in the same line, what is certain is that it offers an excellent level of cushioning, exceptional breathability, optimal arch support and an upper design that does not go unnoticed.
This version of the Air Max offers the basics you would expect in a running shoe, in a design that becomes its best calling card. These shoes are designed to fit runners with slightly narrower or medium build feet. The Nike Air Max Sequent offers solid protection to the heel and midfoot section, while in the forefoot we find a good toe box that allows for some level of movement.
In the upper section we find a completely seamless construction, avoiding annoying irritation points. Simplicity is one of the primary characteristics of the Nike Air Max Sequent, since, besides the breathable mesh that covers the entire upper, the only thing we will find as part of the design is the characteristic Nike logo.
The Nike Air Max Sequent features a moderately thick collar and a fairly thin tongue, while an internal protector enhances the structure in the heel area, and adds additional support.
The midsole offers soft cushioning with very good responsiveness, thanks to injection-molded Phylon foam. This foam, in addition to being very lightweight, offers good durability. Transition through the running cycle is benefited because the foam extends in a single length through the entire shoe.
Below the midsole foam, in the heel area, an Air Max unit has been placed similar to those in the other shoes in this line, with the difference that this unit is only in a U shape in the heel area. This feature offers a better response to impacts in this region of the foot, ideal for runners who strike first with this area.
As already seen in all Air Max edition shoes, the Nike Air Max Sequent also resorts to waffle design for its outsole which not only has the quality of absorbing impacts well, but has also demonstrated acceptable traction and durability on asphalt terrains.
This stylish sneaker features eight colorways in which Nike has tried to stay ahead of the curve, using quite modern combinations. Although the Air Max Sequent is in Nikes mid-range, it is a very good alternative, if we emphasize its great value for money for a training shoe.
