1 / 10With the Nike Air Zoom catalog in hand, you know you are spoiled for choice, and that the bet will be safe and successful. Air Zoom Pegasus 31, Air Zoom Elite 7 and Air Zoom Streak 5 are some of the reference models of the American firm.
But in this outstanding collection of Running shoes there is one last novelty that marks a before and after. The Nike Air Zoom Structure 18 is set to become the star product of Nike Running. This eighteenth update presents a level of stability and high-speed performance never before achieved by the Beaverton (Oregon) firm.
Tested by elite athletes
The release of the Structure 18 debunks the unwritten myth that a more stable shoe means a slower run. This innovative version is designed to offer lighter weight, more comfort and a more responsive stride. And all this without compromising its stability performance.
The advance is more than remarkable, and the Structure 18 has been tested by internationally recognized professional athletes such as Galen Rupp, silver medalist at 10,000 meters, and Mary Cain, world junior champion at 3,000 meters. Rupp himself comments on the sensations of what it means to wear the Nike Air Zoom Structure 18.
"Since I started running I've only trained in the Nike Structure, so being able to collaborate on the design of the new model is very special to me," Rupp explains. "I love the Nike Air Zoom Structure 18 because they hold my foot in just the right spots, giving me the support I need during the run. I was really surprised when I picked them up and noticed how light they were. It's as if Nike has found a magical way to shave off a few grams, and thanks to that I feel like I can run faster," the medalist stresses.
Triple-density midsole
The Dynamic Support and Asymmetrical Dynamic Flywire systems - upper - are the keys to success for the Structure 18 to provide great stability to the runner.
Dynamic Support technology is a triple density system added to the midsole. These are opposing foam wedges of varying densities that help reduce the rate of pronation. In addition, the best thing about Dynamic Support is that this system activates just when it is needed, improving the transition in each stride and increasing support.
In addition, the Nike Air Zoom Structure 18 comes with a contoured last for improved fit and running responsiveness.
Innovative Nike Air Zoom cushioning
Add to this the unique Nike Air Zoom cushioning, which promotes toe-off. This serves to convey a greater sense of agility and speed. Nike Running 's revolutionary Air Zoom technology is one of the most demanded by elite and amateur runners. The forefoot area is much more reactive, together with the take-off capacity of its innovative last. This combination gives an unmatched result as the Structure 18 with a faster response.
"The Zoom Air collection is designed to revolutionize speed," explains Rob Dolan, Nike Vice President and Creative Director of Footwear. "Whether they're competing or training, athletes consistently ask us for the Zoom Air system because they love that fast, lightweight feel and the energy return they experience."
Another element to keep in mind is that the Nike Air Zoom Structure 18, through NikeiD, allows for exclusive, a la carte customization. This online tool includes different templates, colors, widths and gradients, among other details. All to the consumer's own taste.
