Undoubtedly, when the terms Nike Running and trail running come together, the first thing that comes to mind is the Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse. Probably the most well-known trail running shoe from the American firm and the one most runners wear.
The launch of this new update will not arrive until April 2019, but we already know some details of this trail running shoe, which without making too much noise, is already positioned among the most demanded models for mountain running.
It must be said that these Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse 5 do not introduce too many changes with respect to what we have seen in previous versions, and much less, these are not very radical either. Mainly the improvements of these Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse 5 are concentrated in the upper.
Thus, the medial support of the foot has an asymmetrical support, and it is symptomatic that these Air Zoom Wildhorse 5 from Nike replace the characteristic Flywire cable system with a combination of inner straps and more conventional laces, but also with a series of thermo-seals, which contribute to improve both protection and support, in addition to presenting a more updated aesthetic.
In terms of cushioning, the Wildhorse 5 continues to have a Phylon foam midsole and the characteristic Zoom Air unit in the heel area, which ensures a dynamic and well-cushioned stride.
The outsole has not undergone any significant changes either. The configuration remains the same as in the Nike Air Zoom Wildhorse 4 with a waffle pattern and a taqued pattern, in the form of squares; more prominent in the front area of the shoe, and that in addition to offering grip and traction to move on harder surfaces, also greater resistance. Not forgetting that protective plate.
The technical specifications of the fifth edition of the Nike Wildhorse maintain the 8 mm drop (28/22 mm) of the Wildhorse 4, although slightly lighter with a weight of300 grams.
