Nike Running arrives with the second installment of the Dual Fusion X Running shoes. A version that is designed to give us a more modern style, with the same performance. These shoes are lightweight, suitable for covering long distance races or during our workouts. The model offers good support, great comfort and an affordable price for our budget, excellent for beginner level running running.

The main changes we will see in this second version are in the upper. A section of the shoe that has been renovated with the idea of improving ventilation, while offering a more comfortable fit. The rest of the features remain the same as in the original version.

Nike Dual Fusion X 2 Upper Features

Lightweight, revamped mesh lining the upper offers a glove-like feel and superior ventilation to keep your feet cool at all times. Two sets of Flywire cables on each side of the shoe offer personalized support and fit. For added safety during low-light runs, the Nike Dual Fusion X 2 features reflective elements at strategic points on the shoe.

The padded collar and molded tongue provide additional comfort, and also contribute to a more secure fit. Nike has also opted to redesign the tongue to better conform to the contours of the runner's foot for an improved fit.

The material used in the foot section has been eliminated and replaced with the use of mesh throughout the shoe, resulting in better structure and flexibility in key areas of the shoe.

This new mesh also allows for the use of heat-sealing instead of the thick layers of synthetic material, which made up the supports of the shoe. Most notable is the elimination of the thick toe and heel area protector. In addition to reducing weight, the forefoot has more space and the risk of blisters is reduced.

Nike Dual Fusion X 2 Midsole

A dual-density Phylon rubber provides a good combination of cushioning and firmness to the midsole of the Nike Dual Dusion X 2 This rubber offers remarkable responsiveness and an optimal level of durability. Because this rubber covers the entire midsole, it helps improve the heel-to-toe transition during the running cycle.

Nike Dual Fusion X 2 Outsole

The outsole is fairly flat and some deep flex grooves have been placed in the outsole, mainly in the forefoot area for extra flexibility. Durability comes from the thick layer of carbon rubber in the heel, while traction on different surfaces comes from the blown rubber located in the forefoot area.

The fit of the Nike Dual Fusion X 2 continues with standard measurements from the heel to forefoot area. There is an enhanced feeling of support and security, thanks to its high quality mesh. This makes for a grippy midfoot section, which is also helped by the unique Flywire cables. Runners with different foot dimensions will feel a good fit.

With these features Nike has achieved a more comfortable shoe without sacrificing the functionality needed for long mileage runs. In addition, these Dual Fusion X 2 from Nike Running feature an 11-millimeterdrop and weights of 261 grams for the men's model, and 198 grams for the women's version.
