Key features and innovations of the Nike Pegasus 41
Being such an iconic model, at RUNNEA we put the spotlight on all the new features brought by this new revision of the Pegasus line compared to the Nike Pegasus 40 version.
Full ReactX foam midsole
This new model marks a before and after in its long history because, for the first time in the Pegasus saga, these Pegasus 41 include the innovative ReactX foam. A technological innovation that we have already seen in another daily trainingshoe like the Nike InfinityRN 4.
In the case of the Nike Pegasus 41, the inclusion of ReactX foam in the midsole means a 13% increase in energy return compared to the more conventional React foam.
Air Zoom units, a hallmark of the Pegasus saga
Without abandoning the midsole, it is also worth mentioning that the Air Zoom units, both in the heel and forefoot, maintain the essence of the Pegasus line, with dynamic and responsive cushioning.
Reduced environmental impact
Another detail to take into account in the reconfiguration of the midsole of these Nike Pegasus 41 is that it reduces the carbon footprint by at least 43%, thanks to a more efficient manufacturing process.
Dynamic Midfoot Fit system in the upper
Of course, not all the new features are concentrated in the midsole area. Significant changes in these Nike Running Pegasus 41 are also located in a redesigned upper. On that point, the most positive section is that the Nike staff has addressed the main demands of the users of this shoe. Thus, the technical mesh upper is more comfortable, breathable and lightweight.
The Dynamic Midfoot Fit system gives you wraparound support and a more personalized and reliable fit. An internal band at the medial side of the shoe is able to wrap around the foot better, and also provide more efficient support.
All available versions of the Nike Pegasus 41
If you are reading this, it is because you are probably interested in getting the new Nike Pegasus 41. We remind you that its official release date is June 5, 2024. This means that it is one of the best options that you can evaluate to go running in the summer. Although we also tell you that the expectations of this iconic model of the Oregon brand is still that of being the most sought-after running shoe in the running segment, and that it occupies the privileged places in the lists of the best-selling models.
As in previous versions of the Pegasus line, these renewed Nike Pegasus 41 will not come alone, and will also come in special versions such as the Nike Pegasus EasyOn or the Nike Pegasus Premium. Of course, without forgetting the specific versions for mountain terrain such as the Nike Pegasus Trail 5 and the Nike Pegasus Trail 5 Gore-Tex.
Runner profile for which the Nike Pegasus 41 is aimed at
The Nike Pegasus 41 is ideal for road runners who value both performance and sustainability. They are perfect for runners of all levels, from beginners looking for a reliable and comfortable shoe, to more experienced runners who want to optimize their energy and enhance their running experience.

Their balanced design and built-in technologies make them perfect for runners looking for a shoe that can adapt to different challenges and conditions.
Nike Pegasus 41, the perfect choice to improve your performance.
In the technical specifications section, these Pegasus 41 from Nike Running maintain that 10-millimeter heel drop that we have already seen in the previous version of the Nike Pegasus 40 A drop that offers a reliable, comfortable and secure footprint, and without having to compromise the model's responsiveness. In men's running shoes, this Nike Pegasus 41 has a weight of 297 grams; while in the women's version, its weight is 251 grams. Compared to the Pegasus 40, the weight increases slightly, because the geometry of the midsole has been increased. However, the behavior of this latest version is more dynamic and agile compared to its predecessor.
For more than four decades, the Nike Pegasus has served runners all over the world with its great reliability and versatility. This Nike Pegasus 41 delivers on that signature smooth and responsive ride that the Pegasus franchise is known for, while advancing its technology and innovations. In this case, it's a revamped model that not only offers a superior running experience, but also makes more responsible use of natural resources.

Nike Pegasus 41: The necessary evolution of a running icon
I am very fond of the Pegasus saga. In fact, the first Nike I tried was the 31st version more than 10 years ago. You can still see the video here I made back in the day (I'm even embarrassed to see it now). And during all these years I have witnessed the evolution of this iconic line of shoes that, looking at it in perspective, has not undergone radical changes as it has happened with other sagas. The arrival of the Nike Pegasus 41 is probably one of the most radical since that 31st edition. Nike has incorporated significant innovations but maintaining its legacy of a versatile shoe, at a good price for a wide variety of runners and with extra cushioning in this version. I share with you my experience with the Nike Pegasus 41, a model that I recognize is the one I have liked the most since the 36th version.
First impressions Nike Pegasus 41
The first impression of the Pegasus 41 is their modern and attractive design. More in line with the current trend of growing its midsole in height. We will find a breathable mesh upper that fits perfectly to the foot, offering comfort and support. A shoe more voluminous to the eye, with a feeling of being more cushioned, maybe not as fast but more comfortable.
"From the first moment you put them on, you feel how the foot settles in without any pressure. It's very comfortable feeling that extra cushioning in the heel area, and not so much in the forefoot area."
Cushioning technology
Probably the most notable innovation we're going to find in the Nike Pegasus 41 besides the height of its profiles, is the combination of ReactX foam and Air Zoom capsules in the heel and forefoot. ReactX offers soft cushioning and efficient energy return, which translates into a more comfortable yet dynamic running experience. Air Zoom pods enhance reactivity and aim to provide a sense of momentum in every stride. It's always the same for me, I don't feel it, but it's there. I do notice more cushioning and better heel support, which is appreciated as it offers extra security and stability. Now this shoe is going to reach a greater number of runners, even for runners over 85 kg.
"Without a doubt, the inclusion of ReactX has been a positive change. The feel on the ground is very soft, but with that point of reactivity that is especially noticeable in the heel. The combination of technologies makes each stride more fluid, improving the transition from heel to toe."
More changes
The outsole has been redesigned with an improved traction pattern that ensures optimal grip on a variety of surfaces. The use of high-abrasion rubber in key areas ensures durability, allowing the shoes to maintain their performance over time.
"I've run with them on asphalt and dirt roads, and traction has been quite good in all conditions. On wet asphalt, the grip has room for improvement."
Let's run with them
On a run, I like the Nike Pegasus 41 for their balance of cushioning and responsiveness. I took them with me on vacation and have been able to run with them for about 120 km on different types of terrain and intensities. The combination of ReactX and Air Zoom provides a stable and responsive platform, allowing changes of pace and accelerations with total confidence. Over long distances, the comfort is very good, with no pressure points or discomfort.
What I have noticed is that in the forefoot area I miss some more cushioning. But it is something very particular, the perception I have is that in that area they are looking for a better feel of the terrain and at the same time a plus of stability as the shoe has gained some width in that area. You are going to appreciate it because your toes don't feel trapped.
"Running long distances in the Nike Pegasus 41 is much more comfortable thanks to the improved heel cushioning. However, I do notice that the forefoot could benefit from a little more softness."
What I liked most
Of these new Nike Pegasus 41 I would highlight their enhanced cushioning in the heel area, offering superior foot protection. This is going to translate into a comfortable and secure feel, especially on long runs. The versatility and additional support compared to the previous version are also noticeable, making them an ideal shoe for various types of training.
"The cushioning in the heel has delighted me, especially for those of us who tend to land with this part of the foot. It feels like a big difference in terms of protection and comfort."
Another noteworthy point is that it is now a shoe perhaps slower than the previous version, but more versatile and open to more people. For runners of almost any weight.
Possible points for improvement
I'm missing some more cushioning in the forefoot. It's something very particular but I would like the same soft feel as in the heel part. The foam in this area can feel a bit sparse and too firm, especially for runners who land midfoot or forefoot. This can lead to a feeling of overheating on long runs in the metatarsal area.
Ideal runner type
The Nike Pegasus 41 is perfect for runners with neutral or even mild pronation who are looking for a versatile and reliable shoe for daily workouts of almost any distance. It's a training shoe to rack up the miles but with some responsiveness if you need it. Their combination of cushioning and stability makes them suitable for both beginners and experienced runners. They are also perfect for those looking for a shoe that offers support and comfort on medium to long distance runs.
"If you're a runner looking for an all-terrain shoe, the Pegasus 41 are an excellent choice. They offer great versatility for different types of training and distances."
Shoes they compete with
The Pegasus 41 compete with other leading shoes on the market, such as the Asics Novablast 4, Adidas Supernova Rise, Mizuno Wave Rider 28, Hoka Clifton 9 or New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14. Each of these shoes has their own strengths, but the Pegasus 41 stand out for their balance of cushioning, stability and sustainability.
- Asics Novablast 4: With great cushioning and responsive feel, ideal for runners looking for a high-energy feel with every step in a fairly lightweight shoe.
- Adidas Supernova Rise: They stand out for their comfort and shock absorption capacity, perfect for long workouts. A somewhat stiffer feel than the Pegasus.
- Mizuno Wave Rider 28: They offer great stability and responsiveness, suitable for runners looking for a balance between cushioning and firmness.
- Hoka Clifton 9: Very good cushioning and lightweight, ideal for long distances and marathons.
- New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14: The shoe that most resembles the Nike Pegasus 41. Good cushioning, good foot support and responsiveness.
"Each of these shoes has something special, but the Pegasus 41 strike a balance that makes them extremely versatile. You can use them for almost any type of running."
The Nike Pegasus 41 is proof of Nike's commitment to bringing back its great icon of popular running. Its design, without losing its essence, is innovative, incorporates advanced technology and now puts a greater focus on sustainability. After years of using different versions of the Pegasus, I can confirm that the 41st not only meet expectations, but exceed them, in the search of what it means to run comfortably and efficiently.
The evolution has been truly differential, and the Nike Pegasus 41 are, without a doubt, one of the best versions so far. They offer a perfect balance between comfort, performance and sustainability.

- Excellent value for money

Nike Pegasus 41: Good cushioning, nice redesign and good value
The Pegasus has always held a special place in my shoes rotation. In fact I think it was the first shoe I started running in. I remember it was the 34º version and since then whenever I had the opportunity, I've been trying each new model, and there have been ups and downs. However the Nike Pegasus 41 I think marks a significant update to this iconic line. Nike has managed to incorporate relevant innovations without losing the essence of a versatile shoe that is still affordable for the prices we see now. Here I share my experience with the Nike Pegasus 41, which stands out for its balance of comfort and performance.
First impressions Nike Pegasus 41
From the first glance, the Pegasus 41 impress with their modern and attractive design, with a midsole height in line with current trends. The mesh upper is breathable and fits the foot like a glove, offering comfort and support. Visually, they feel more voluminous, which means a more cushioned feel. Although it's true that they are also lake heavier than the Nike Pegasus 40s. But honestly, for me it's very difficult to perceive that.
"From the first moment you put them on, you feel how the foot settles in without any pressure. It's very comfortable feeling that extra cushioning in the heel area, and not so much in the forefoot area."
Cushioning technology
The most notable innovation in the Nike Pegasus 41 is the combination of ReactX foam and Air Zoom pods in the heel and forefoot. ReactX offers soft cushioning and efficient energy return, providing a more comfortable and dynamic running experience. The Air Zoom capsules improve reactivity, although I think this shoe is now more rolling. I liked it as a running shoe for medium to easy paces.
"Without a doubt, the inclusion of ReactX has been a positive change. The feel of the shoe is very soft, but with that point of reactivity that is especially noticeable in the heel. The combination of technologies makes each stride more fluid, improving the transition from heel to toe."
More changes
The outsole has been redesigned with an improved traction pattern, ensuring optimal grip on a variety of surfaces. The use of high-abrasion rubber in key areas ensures durability, maintaining the shoes' performance over time.
"I've run with them on asphalt and dirt roads, and traction has been quite good in all conditions. On wet asphalt, the grip has room for improvement."
Let's run with them
On a run, I like the Nike Pegasus 41 for their balance of cushioning and responsiveness. I've run with them for about 150 km on different types of terrain and intensities. I've actually run quite a bit on dirt trails. The combination of ReactX and Air Zoom provides a stable and responsive platform, allowing for changes of pace and accelerations and the shoe is responsive. But I'm sticking with this shoe for my leisurely runs of almost any distance.
"Running long distances in the Nike Pegasus 41 is much more comfortable thanks to the improved heel cushioning. However, I do notice that the forefoot could benefit from a little more softness."
What I liked the most
From these new Nike Pegasus 41 I would highlight their enhanced cushioning in the heel area, offering superior foot protection. This means a comfortable and secure feel, especially on long runs. The versatility and additional support compared to the previous version are also notable, making them an ideal shoe for various types of training.
"The cushioning in the heel has delighted me, especially for those of us who tend to land with this part of the foot. It feels like a big difference in terms of protection and comfort," comments Amaia.
Possible points for improvement
Like Gorka, I'm missing some more cushioning in the forefoot. It's something very particular but I would like the same soft feeling as in the heel area. The foam in this area can feel a bit sparse and too firm, especially for runners who land midfoot or forefoot.
Ideal runner type
The Nike Pegasus 41 is perfect for runners with neutral or mild pronation who are looking for a versatile and reliable daily training shoe. It's ideal for racking up the miles with some responsiveness if you need it. Their combination of cushioning and stability makes them suitable for both beginners and experienced runners. They are perfect for those looking for support and comfort on medium to long distance runs.
"If you're a runner looking for an all-terrain shoe, Pegasus 41 are an excellent choice. They offer great versatility for different types of training and distances," advises Amaia.
Shoes she competes in
I also agree with Gorka Cabañas that the Pegasus 41 compete with Asics Novablast 4, Adidas Supernova Rise, Mizuno Wave Rider 28, Hoka Clifton 9 or New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14
"Each of these shoes has something special, but the Pegasus 41 strike a balance that makes them extremely versatile. You can use them for almost any type of running," Amaia concludes.
The Nike Pegasus 41 is proof of Nike's commitment to bring back its great icon of popular running. I liked their design, and I also like the fact that Nike is putting a greater focus on sustainability. After years of using different versions of the Pegasus, I can affirm that the 41 not only meet expectations, but exceed them, offering a perfect balance between comfort, performance and sustainability.
