The NNormal Kjerag trail running shoe is the first model launched by NNormal, a brand born from the alliance between the world-renowned mountaineer and mountain runner Kilian Jornet and the family-owned footwear company Camper. It is a high-performance mountain shoe, very versatile as it is designed to run both on the most technical trails and on the flattest trails.
Fast and light, so present the new trail running shoes NNormal Kjerag; that with only 200 grams of weight, 197 grams in a size 7.5UK of man to be more exact, incorporates some of the most revolutionary technologies of the moment. Let's remember that the first prototype of these Kjerag was tested in competition by Jornet himself, in some of the most emblematic races that have taken place this 2022.
The NNormal Kjerag offers a great balance between stability, protection and cushioning. An exquisite combination that helps prevent muscle fatigue and blisters, while prioritizing, at all times, virtually unbeatable adaptability. "Our goal with the Kjerag era find the highest quality materials, the most advanced technologies and the most planet-friendly production processes. In other words, the best in every aspect. From there, we've tried to put it all together in an all-terrain shoe that's as good for a KV as it is for 100 miles," Kilian himself pointed out. Without further ado, let's take a closer look at the main features of this model:
The new generation EEXPURE® midsole is in direct contact with the feet through a very thin membrane. A material of great lightness and reactivity that also offers a higher level of stability. It is also important to mention that in the area of greatest pressure, there is an ultra-thin protective layer that prevents sharp stones from causing injury.
The upper area of this men's and women's trail running shoes is woven with a braid of Kevlar® and polyamide yarns, making it an exceptionally tough, durable and highly breathable shoe. The traditional lacing system ensures maximum foot support and a more personalized fit. It is worth noting that the fabric, produced in Ardèche (France), uses a dyeing process that uses 50 to 95% less water than other methods.
And we come to the most strategic area of the shoe, the outsole. The result of an exclusive collaboration between VIBRAM and NNormal, the Litebase outsole drastically reduces its overall weight (up to 30%), thanks to a 50% reduction in thickness, while retaining its perfect shape and 3.5 mm lugs.
Regardless of the complexity of the terrain, the Megagrip Vibram compound has great grip and long life. The lug pattern is made up of 50 lugs, with a fast 35 mm profile that prioritizes speed and sensitivity to the terrain. As the company itself points out, "all the lugs have between 6 and 8 angles, and are strategically placed to favor grip during propulsion, maintain control in lateral supports and retain in technical descents".
We finally put a face to the new NNormal Kjerag, a trail running shoes designed to conquer the most demanding peaks. With a light weight of 197 grams, in a size 7.5UK for men, and a 6 mm drop (a midsole of 235 mm in the rear and 175 mm in the front), it is the first shoe that NNormal launches and whose prototype has already been seen on Kilian's feet, in some of the most important competitions of the 2022 season.
Importantly, the first delivery of NNormal gear, including the Kjerag, will be available in Europe and North America in the fall of 2022.
