The Puma Ignite Ultimate is a shoe with maximum cushioning but with good responsiveness. A model that weighs around 300 grams in a size 95 USA and is aimed at runners over 75 kg, for training in long runs at medium or slow paces.
These Puma shoes owe their name to the Ignite foam in the midsole. A soft foam but without being chewy. Curiously, the shoe stands out for having a high heel that is very comfortable when running. The heel height is no less than 31 mm for a 12 mm drop.
The upper is made of 3 layers of mesh that fit the foot very well and with a good breathability. One of the layers is made of TPU, which gives body and protects the foot.
In the sole, in the heel area Puma has incorporated a 3D silicone piece to help stabilize the landing and eliminate heel slippage.
We are also going to find a groove that crosses from the heel to the metatarsal area that helps guide the movement of the foot strike in a natural way.
There are 12 grooves designed to offer greater flexibility in the toe-off area while avoiding uncomfortable slippage.
The Puma Ignite Ultimate ensures great energy return, cushioning and comfort.
The arch that protects the ankle is very soft and has a very good feel. The tongue is perhaps a little short but also quite soft. The insole has different volumes to prevent the foot from slipping inside the shoe.
