Year 2015

Sauconys ISO.SERIES range, with its reference models Zealot, Triumph and Hurricane, has been the subject of many reviews, and has given a lot to talk about in the world of running shoes. These innovative Running shoes have marked a before and after. However, the North American company has once again come up with a surprise with the new Saucony Breakthru. Although baptized with an almost unpronounceable name, this is the lightest model that the manufacturer from Kutztown (Pennsylvania) has presented to date.

In the Saucony Breakthru, appearances are deceptive. Its design has a marked aesthetics of a racing shoe, but it is included in the segment of mixed training shoes, offering as solid arguments: good cushioning and optimal response.

Made with an 8 mm drop, lightness is one of its strong points. The men's version weighs 244 grams, while for female runners, the shoe weighs just over 200 grams (207 grams).

Technologies used

Starting with the sole, the Breakthru incorporates the Powergrid cushioning system, enhancing the cushioned area and its great response.

In its upper, the purpose that has been sought, and has been achieved, is that this area of the shoe enjoys excellent support, but without increasing the weight of the model.

And two details to emphasize. The first: the RUNDRY system, which provides greater breathability and dries faster. And the second: its reflective system that wraps around the foot so that you can be seen when running in poor light or visibility.

Runner profile

The Saucony Breakthru is indicated for a light/medium weight runner profile, who likes to run at rather brisk paces. Those who are looking for a great lightness, but who also don't want to give up less cushioning.

It is also a good option for quality training sessions, and even for taking part in competitions of various distances.
