1 / 4Introducing the Saucony Cohesion 10 Since its introduction, Saucony s Cohesion line has been characterized by its efficient components and features for daily training for neutral runners. With its comfortable design, responsive midsole and outsoles capable of adapting to various terrain conditions, the Cohesion is an excellent shoe for those looking for versatility.
The tenth edition of the Saucony Cohesion increases its visual appeal with a revamped upper that gives the shoe a more casual look; a running shoe that we could even wear for a walk.
Upper
This is the main innovation for the tenth edition of the Cohesion. The synthetic overlays on the sidewalls have been modified, reducing the amount of synthetic overlays, which also results in fewer seams and a lighter shoe.
A few layers have been retained on the sides of the shoe, one of which is attached to the heel section, thus maintaining the structure of the shoe and facilitating lace-up adjustment.
The mesh used for the upper now has smaller holes, giving a more fabric-like appearance and providing a look that, while more casual than the previous edition, does not leave aside the classic sporty style that characterizes Sauconys designs.
The tongue and collar continue to be quite padded and secure the foot well while offering comfort. These two parts of the shoe are meant to fit the foot very well inside the shoe while remaining soft enough to avoid any discomfort or skin irritation.
Midsole
The midsole uses the same technologies as the Cohesion 9. First we find an injection molded EVA rubber, or IMEVA, which extends in a single length over the entire midsole. This rubber provides good handling of foot-surface impact, more responsive cushioning to different types of pressure and a more durable structure than traditional rubbers.
The Heel Grid system in the rear section of the shoe supports the foot better and prevents injury and discomfort. This extra cushioning in the heel area adds comfort and support to the shoe, especially for runners who land heel first.
For extra comfort inside the shoe, a removable insole has been placed inside the shoe, which also helps control moisture and odors that can be produced by prolonged use.
Outsole
The XT-600 material continues to be the material of choice for the Saucony Cohesion 10's outsoles; this material is made of high quality components which ensure durability against abrasion or wear and tear. The rubber present in this technology is also intended to provide better traction on asphalt terrains.
Another quality of this material is that it does not come off easily, so the soles will maintain their durability over time.
The pattern of the outsoles has been changed slightly with the addition of less prominent lugs; Flex Grooves also continue to be seen on the Saucony Cohesion 10 and provide flexibility to the foot, especially in the forefoot section of the shoe.
With slight modifications, the Cohesion 10 promises a good performance on asphalt runs, but with its modern and comfortable design and good cushioning it could also be used for the gym or as a casual shoe.
