Photos Saucony Cohesion 16 TR
1 / 3Since last season there has been a trend among major brands to release TR versions of some of the most outstanding models and Saucony has also done so with the Saucony Cohesion 16 TR, a shoe to combine asphalt and easy mountain.
The Saucony Cohesion 16 TR is a trail runningshoe, designed for all people who want to start running and who like to combine training on asphalt and easy mountain trails without great technical difficulties.
Main features of the Saucony Cohesion 16 TR
The Saucony Cohesion 16 TR is a trail runningshoe from Saucony that does not incorporate the great and best known technologies developed by the brand and that we can find in more established models of Saucony, anyway, we are facing one of the most basic models of Saucony and intended for a non-intensive sports practice.
Like its sister shoe, intended for training on asphalt, the Saucony Cohesion 16, is made with recycled materials, a growing trend, and more necessary, by the big brands in the sports retail industry.
It is not the first shoe of the brand that, under the base and technologies of the running model, adapts to a great extent, the sole, to be able to take the shoe beyond the asphalt to more mountainous terrain near the cities, as already happened with the Saucony Ride 15 TR.
The upper of the Saucony Cohesion 16 TR is lightweight but less breathable than the running version, it also has reinforcements in the heel area to provide more protection and stability in our strides. This is an important aspect because as it is a shoe intended for people who are just starting to run, the support of the footprint is mainly with the heel and on more uneven terrain such as trails or forest tracks.
The midsole of the shoe is made of the same Versarun compound as the Saucony Cohesion 16, a compound developed by the brand that provides a comfortable and secure fit. In addition, it guarantees a correct absorption of the impacts of the shoe with the surface.
The outsole of the Saucony Cohesion 16 TR varies slightly from the running version. The main compound is rubber with reinforcements in those areas with greater contact with the ground that guarantees a great durability to withstand many kilometers and not worry about this aspect during our workouts.
Ideal type of runner for the Saucony Cohesion 16 TR
The Saucony Cohesion 16 TR is designed for occasional runners who want to combine their outings and training on asphalt and simple forest trails without great technical difficulties. Light/medium weight runners with a neutral stride are the most suitable for this shoe.
This is a shoe for beginners in the world of trail running, so the right pace for this shoe is not very high and for short distances, for distances beyond 10K or greater challenges we would recommend a more complete shoes.
Saucony Cohesion 16 TR Technical Specifications
In addition to the outsole, another difference in this version is the height of the profiles, it keeps the same 12mm drop but with profiles a few millimeters higher, specifically, 29mm in the heel and 17mm in the front of the shoe.
As for the weight of the shoe, the Saucony Cohesion 16 TR is slightly heavier than its running sister, although it is still a shoe that is not excessively heavy, on the contrary, it weighs 261 grams in the men's version and 219 grams in the women's version.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the height of the outsole lugs, which are 3.5 mm, to provide the necessary grip on uneven terrain that goes beyond the asphalt of the cities.
In short, the Saucony Cohesion 16 TR is a shoe that gives us the possibility to perform our "off-road" training inan easy way, with a great value for money that makes it a great option to start enjoying running on mountain trails.
