Photos Saucony Cohesion 8

1 / 5

Saucony Cohesion 8 is a very comfortable running shoe that provides the right amount of cushioning and support. The shoe is ideal for daily training and short distance runs. Although some major improvements were expected compared to the previous edition, the shoe, overall, offers very good features.

The Cohesion 8 stays true to the sizing in length and width seen in previous editions, such as its predecessor the Cohesion 7 With a width that accommodates a wide midfoot, many runners will enjoy this training shoe without it becoming restrictive.

Outsole for improved grip and traction

The outsole of the Cohesion 8 has been updated and is equipped with XT-600 carbon rubber. This is a Saucony rubber material that has excellent abrasion and traction properties. This technology provides good grip on different surfaces and better traction. The outsole also comes with deep flex grooves, which Saucony has placed throughout the forefoot area for added flexibility.

The shoe has a 12 mm drop, and uses Saucony s Grid technology in the heel to provide stability. Saucony claims that this Grid technology offers enhanced cushioning. The pattern on the sidewalls of the shoe has several grooves and flex points are designed to improve the flexibility of the shoe. These sidewall grooves continue under the shoe and pass through most of the outsole.

Stable cushioning

The midsole unit is designed with IMEVA, a full-length injection molded EVA foam, which makes the shoe more efficient at absorbing shock and pressure throughout training. This cushioning material provides a shallow depression in the heel area, therefore enhancing the cushioning system as it helps reduce shock.

The grid heel system is also used as part of the midsole to provide stability, especially for the heel-first supporter. This system is primarily used in this shoe to provide stable and supportive cushioning in the heel.

Responsive feel

The upper of the Saucony Cohesion 8 is designed using breathable mesh and synthetic materials that provide increased airflow, keeping feet cool and comfortable. The upper is reinforced with a front lacing, padded collar and tongue, as well as overlays for added comfort and support. Reflective elements are also added to the upper to make the shoe visible even in low-light conditions.

The shoe overall has a good responsive feel, and doesn't feel heavy, even though Saucony has added a few extra millimeters of foam through the midsole, relative to their previous model, it can be said that among their price range the Saucony Cohesion 8 are worthy to give them a try.
