The Saucony Freedom ISO is a versatile shoe that incorporates for the first time a full-length midsole with EVERUN technology, a foam with firmer, more responsive cushioning than EVA foam, which means the Freedom ISO is more adaptable with each runner's stride. The EVERUN midsole also allows the Freedom ISO to adapt to a wider range of runners looking for a very comfortable shoe for medium to long runs with excellent cushioning for medium to heavy weights. It is a shoe for neutral runners who don't need much support. Not recommended for overpronators as its soft cushioning can cause some instability in runners who need support.

The Freedom ISO is Sauconys most innovative and technologically advanced shoe, all the elements come together in perfect harmony to deliver an exciting and powerful experience. Saucony achieves a smooth running feel that is felt throughout the stride cycle, with sufficient cushioning and responsiveness that is topped off with a design that focuses on a "natural run". Its drop is 4 mm, which requires a good running technique to avoid injuries such as overloads.

Saucony Freedom ISO outsole

The outsole is made of a new translucent compound called Crystal Rubber. It is a single piece with the same firmness from the heel to the toes. The brand assures good durability. The chevron pattern lugs that Saucony calls Tri-Flex are similar in design to those on other Saucony models, but the pattern here is narrower and with a consistent depth.

The firmness of the material appears to be between what Saucony typically uses in the heel area in most of its current shoes, as well as the material in the softer areas in the forefoot. The resulting thickness, small chevrons and unique firmness of the material provides a very consistent running feel throughout the entire outsole. Overall durability is also excellent.

Everun midsole

The key piece of the Saucony Freedom ISO is the midsole, which marks the first full-length EVERUN midsole. This midsole design amplifies all the benefits of EVERUN with even greater energy return and continuous, fluid cushioning with every stride. The shoe conforms to the runner's foot throughout the run for a smooth, fluid feel. With these two elements working in unison, the Freedom ISO creates an energy-returning feel that has become the goal of the vast majority of brands on the market.

Upper

The upper features a design focused on minimizing weight. The ISOFIT system was inspired by sprint training, in the way it hugs the foot with minimal material layering. The Engineered mesh upper provides dynamic stretch and eliminates the need for stitched overlays, while the minimal support frame in the heel grips and holds this area of the foot securely without additional weight. The upper design of the Freedom ISO combines a slightly stretchy interior integrated into the tongue and then stitched into the midsole.

It is not connected anywhere to the external structure of the ISO except for an embroidered part in the lacing area. This means that the Engineered mesh outer layer and 3 wrap the foot in a highly customizable way depending on the volume of the foot. There is no heel support on the Freedom ISO, they only have a fairly soft plastic strip, Saucony calls it the frame, this part helps provide support for the foot in the heel area.
