The Saucony Guide 8 is an 8 mm drop shoe designed for training and long distance races for runners weighing up to 80 kilograms with mild to moderate pronation. A 281-gram shoe that combines efficient cushioning with lightweight stability for great performance. It is indicated for running paces close to 4:30 min/km or even slightly faster.

Upper

 Saucony Guide 8 upper

As for the design of the upper of the shoe we observe a little more amplitude with respect to the predecessor versions due to the implementation of thermosealed bands, which provides greater comfort. In addition, seams have been eliminated in this model. The Saucony Guide 8 has a slightly wider space for the metatarsals and a reinforced toe cap to increase the shoe's durability.

Although the upper mesh is a bit dense, it offers good ventilation to the foot. The tongue is quite soft and the laces are flat and somewhat elastic. The heel collar is adequately padded and on the back of the shoe we find the Saucony logo that serves as a reflective element to increase the runner's safety when light conditions are poor.

Midsole

 Saucony Guide 8 midsole

The midsole of the Guide 8 features Powergrid technology to dissipate shock and distribute pressure throughout the foot, providing up to 20% more cushioning and improving stability. This translates into a smooth stride transition during the run.

Outsole

 Saucony Guide 8 outsole

This part of the shoe is clearly differentiated by the presence of its three colors that provide flexibility, traction and durability. The outsole is formed by a mix of XT-900 carbon in the heel area and iBR+ material located in the front part of the shoe.
