Abest-selling model in the top category of cushioning for neutral runners from Saucony, which reaches its ninth version with a significant leap in quality compared to its predecessor the Saucony Ride 8. The criteria in the Saucony Ride 9 are the same that have been followed in other reference shoes of the North American firm, such as the Triumph ISO 2, the Kinvara 7, the Guide 9 or the Hurricane ISO. The implementation of the innovative EVERUN cushioning system already gives it a look that sets it apart in this new update of Sauconys Ride family.
In the Ride 9 the EVERUN compound is present throughout the entire sole, as we have already seen in the Guide 9, designed for pronators, but also differing from the famous Kinvara 7, in which this layer only appears in the rear area of the model. Thus, the relationship between response and cushioning is more than evident, making it a very versatile option.
The previous PowerGrid system is becoming a thing of the past for Saucony, and the Saucony Ride 9 is capable of absorbing the heel impact in the landing phase. This translates into a smoother and more fluid transition.
Another new feature of the Saucony Ride 9 is located in the outsole. Here the new Tri-Flex configuration in the forefoot area takes center stage, and its mission is none other than to offer greater flexibility so that the toe-off phase is smoother in each stride.
In one area, a smoother transition, the Crash Pad system in the rearfoot also contributes to this, adding more efficiency to the runner's stride.
The Ride 9 also uses more specific rubber, such as XT-900 in the most exposed parts, and iBR+ in the forefoot area. This prolongs the life of the shoe, while improving grip, even on wet surfaces.
The Ride 8 has already seen FlexFilm heat seals in the lightweight, porous and comfortable mesh upper. This technology allows the shoe to offer an optimal fit without adding extra grams of weight. All this contained in a very attractive aesthetic and with proper ventilation.
On the other hand, the RunDry system is present in the form of inner lining both in the ankle collar and tongue, which serves to improve breathability, and that the shoe gains in comfort.
The Saucony Ride 9 has a drop of 8 millimeters with a weight of 264 grams for the men's model in size 42.5 EU, and 235 grams for the women's version in size 39 EU. In short, this ninth installment of the Saucony Ride is conceived as a lightweight model for neutral runners, which can be used for training as well as for medium and long distance competitions.
